What our guests are saying...

AI-generated from guest reviews for this property

Lone Maple is described as a perfect, cozy retreat with a tranquil atmosphere and charming character. Guests appreciated the comfortable bed, bright and airy bedroom, and the very clean, beautifully finished interior. The property is praised for its walkable location near Port Clyde, set on a quiet road in a charming neighborhood close to the waterfront and local attractions. Harbor views and lovely sunset scenery from the home added to the appeal. Guests also enjoyed the well-equipped space, especially the brand new kitchen with high-end appliances and quality cookware.

Overview

This charming classic, renovated in 2011, looks like a Port Clyde Village cottage on the outside, but Lone Maple is high-end on the inside. The result is a perfect blend of timeless Maine architecture and modern necessities.

The cottage is perfectly suited for two people — on the second floor find a half bath and a bedroom. The bedroom has an ample closet and is situated at the peak of the cottage. Three skylights (outfitted with electronic shades) and a large double-hung window let in the sun, the stars, and a fabulous breeze off the water. The half bath has a skylight as well (also with an electronic shade).

Downstairs, at the front of the cottage, you'll find a comfortable living room and the dining area, complete with four chairs. The living room includes a couch, chair, and a wall-mounted flatscreen television with cable. The cottage is also outfitted with a wireless Internet connection.

The kitchen is the crowning glory of the house, aside from the location and view, and is truly gourmet. You will be stunned at the caliber of kitchen found tucked inside this cottage, including a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, double wall oven, and an induction cook-top. Chantal cookware is also provided — this is a kitchen worthy of a top chef. (And those who like to pretend they are!)

Outside, find a small deck off the kitchen and a basic gas grill. There are two Adirondack chairs at the front of the cottage, overlooking the water.

The neighborhood is friendly, the location ideal, and the accommodations comfortable. Located in a small cluster of houses atop a hill overlooking Port Clyde Harbor, Lone Maple is just a 10-minute walk into the village.

This is our second visit (stayed 2 years ago). A loft with a breeze and nice bed; a great kitchen. Steps to upstairs ladder-like, so you must be fit to climb. A nice place to stay!

The place that we stayed at was very quiet. The view outside was beautiful and the house had everything that you need. We enjoyed our stay and we sure hope to come back in the future.

A well-equipped rental and accurately represented.

The kitchen is a dream with high end appliances and quality cookware.

The stairs are definitely short treaded and steep, as the listing suggests. Good to use both handrails on the descents!

The shower is downstairs in the living room, it has a privacy panel available but it's still a tad awkward, though not a deterrent.

The restroom (with skylight) is upstairs, as is the lovely, bright, and airy bedroom with three more skylights and a harbor-facing window (these skylights all hand-crank open and have remote control shades).

The place is very cozy and tranquil. The next door neighbors are all within eye and earshot of open windows and blinds, so it's good counsel to consider what you say and do, and whether the shades/windows are open when you say and do it here.

There is a lovely, albeit narrow, view of the harbor from the strategically placed Adirondack chairs. One should plan a short walk to a better vantage point in order to see the sun rise.

The tranquility here is intoxicating, the coastal Maine landscape is eternally stunning, and the fishing village vibe truly inspires any trace of latent creativity in one's DNA.

It's a great, quirky little place that won't appeal to everyone in the same way. A single or a very compatible, flexible, and low-key couple would likely feel the most comfortable here.

We liked the facility and the location a lot. The cabin was well equipped for our one week stay. The area was lovely. The town was very interesting. Maine is a beautiful state especially near the water. As birders we were near excursions to Puffins. The only improvement would be to repair the shower door, screws were loose. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Overall, the property was good, but not particularly clean. And a few utilitarian items were missing, which was quickly rectified by the management company. We are older and would have liked to know how steep the stairs are. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
