Overview
Built in the 1960s by Etta and Almond Hall on land that had been owned by their family for 200 years, Etta's House is everything a summer cottage on the St. George River should be. The cottage, with stunning views of the river, still makes you feel like you're a million miles from everything that isn't as important as salt breezes, peace, and quiet.
Step inside to find exposed beams, and vintage bead-board cabinets existing in harmony with such modern conveniences as a full-size kitchen, free WiFi, and a TV with a DVD player. Large picture windows let in lots of natural light and cooling breezes. The deck spans the entire front of the house, offering a bistro dining set, a lounge chair, and three Adirondack chairs. A gas grill is also provided. Back inside, there are two bedrooms partitioned with three-quarter walls.
Here in the Wiley's Corner area of St. George, you'll be a quick and scenic drive from Tenants Harbor and Rockland.

Nice location, nice property, well-kept cottage, very good bed, good view
Recently, we spent a relaxing long weekend at Etta’s place. It was a weekend of gorgeous Autum foliage, a cozy fireplace, and crisp air. Highly recommend this house.
Clean, comfortable, and rustic. Great stay.
Rustic, as I have outdoor tent camped years back, and know how to rough it. Slight issue of no entry using their digital code. Needed to call to then access a lockbox and a side door key. Bedding was proper, but the floors, hearth and sink/kitchen area was overlooked. Rustic tub/ shower missed mark with mold in crevices, shakey knobs. Ancient 24 inch TV hooked to a Spectrum cable left questions on upgrade needed. Only a few dollars to put in a Smart TV. Fireplace worked out well. Deck was a relief. Location worked. Rustic.
We loved the view of the ocean from the deck, the closeness to the main roads. Getting to Port Clyde and Owls Head was a breeze. We appreciate the full bathroom along with the kitchen/dining combo.
No internet, no grill, interior doors do not close, no a/c.
