Head of the Harbor II

Snug Harbor II was spacious; amenities were great. Beds were comfy with plenty of towels for all of us, too. Walkable location close to everything.

Overall nice. Good location and pretty nicely furnished. Stairs are small and steep so not for mobility challenged. Also only one bath on second floor so if you have guests on third floor bedrooms bit of a pain.

Charming home near downtown. We very much enjoyed our time here.

The location is great for a short walk to the Boothbay Harbor city center and restaurants, but this is where the good part ends. The problem was two fold for the poor rating. First, when we arrived it was a warm 85 degrees in Maine and the management had not turned on any AC for the unit. It was literally 90 degrees inside the rental. The AC unit in the living area is not adequate for the size of the place and it took two days to cool it to a habitable temperature. The downstairs bedroom and upstairs room with the two full beds never really cooled down because it had no air flow even with windows open. The box fan they provided didn’t really help at all. The other bedroom upstairs had a window unit so that room was at least usable. This referenced upstairs room was not usable and we had intentionally rented a 3 bedroom to use every bedroom. We could not use that bedroom and I had to sleep on the couch instead of sweating in the hot box bedroom upstairs. Also, be aware that the stairs are narrow and steep to the entry downstairs and upstairs to two bedrooms. Be careful…one person in our party slipped and fell on the bottom two steps coming down because the wood finish is so slippery and steep. Secondly, the restaurant downstairs called the management company to complain about what seems like an existing problem of water leaking to their ceiling below from the unit bathroom. Management texted us to inform us that we needed to use the shower curtain because of the leak. I saw no standing water or issue visible in the bathroom. I let them know we didn’t see any visible issues. Also, when I texted management about the air conditioning they never provided any acknowledgement of that issue but was on top of the whiny restaurants’s complaint. Lastly, I would not stay in this property rental again and would not recommend it to anyone. Boothbay Harbor is a beautiful place but stay somewhere else for a rental in Boothbay Harbor.

This house is quaint and nicely furnished, in a great location to everything that’s happening in Boothbay Harbor!

We loved this property! So comfy and cozy. Furniture all very inviting and beds and bedding were great. We loved walking downstairs in the morning to have coffee and a delicious breakfast at MaMa D’s coffee shop. The cutest place. We would definitely book here again. Great value!
