Rating
Great house, great location, nice dock. Mattresses could be a little firmer but comfortable enough for a week of fishing with the guys.
The home was the perfect spot for our snowmobiling getaway and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Very easy to find with plenty of parking for trailers and has the added bonus of direct trail access. The home was very clean and we were lucky to see several deer at the back of the property throughout our stay.
If a rating was based just on Appearance, this home would receive a 5, but as many previous renters have stated, the mattresses are BEYOND unacceptable. The owners have seen these reviews FOR YEARS and have chosen to ignore them. This is true, for the road noise. Logging trucks run in front of the rental all three the night, making sleeping challenging. The WiFi is also spotty and Netflix streaming continued to give us trouble. The home was nicely decorated and their generator was a life saver when the power went out on the lake area.
The house is beautiful, enough space and comfort. It is a bit remote in the sense that you have to drive for your groceries and restaurants, coming from the Netherlands distances are a bit of a thing, we're just not used to it.
The property had ceiling fans in lieu of central air. Kitchen and house was open. Had deer wander into the back yard at night. Crowd and a family of ducks also paid us a visit. We caught a couple of trout from the dock. Wish we had more than 1 day to explore, but we did wake up at 4:00 AM to travel to the bogs on the other side of the lake near Kokadjo to see a moose. We met Nullwinkle there
Cheap price for how nice and spacious the house was, and it was right by the beautiful lake Moosehead. The only thing that I would change is adding ac.
