Lots for everyone to do. The blue lobster library and game/party garage are great additions.
The Lobster Cove cottage is quintessential old New England. The upgrades demonstrate care a desire to provide guests a special experience. That said, the cottage is more a 3-season rental than a 4-season rental. In temperatures below freezing, it's drafty and cold.
Furnishings and amenities were as pictured. But notice there is not one hallway/stairway picture.
Lobster Cove Cottage is such a wonderfully comfy, cozy, old house one couldn't help but fall in love with the place. The owners put alot of love into it, by providing good instructions on where things were, and where things were to be returned to after our stay. We didn't use the 2 wonderful outer houses (library and game room), because of no children, but we enjoyed sitting on the library deck reading and listening to the birds. We had a lovely walk along the water, and found driving to town very easy. We would certainly return.
The home is what you see in the pictures, very cozy with a warm charm but also fairly modernized as far as Maine vacation cottages go. Some things you can't see in the pictures: -the house is located back behind a cove in East BB Harbor - the roads around are windy and look dangerous but everyone there walks and uses them for pedestrian traffic, we had our 14 month old in a stroller and we felt plenty safe walking to the resort and park nearby (best park in BB, 1/2 mile away!) -the Blue Lobster Library, separate blue building, what a charming little area to sit and read, relax, scrabble board - really well done and smells amazing - fresh wood scent :) -stairwell is in back left of house behind the kitchen, this is also where the half bath is (these steps are a little rickety and hard to navigate - I wouldn't stay here if I was elderly) -pretty low ceilings in the upstairs section and need to duck on stairs, not a huge deal but I'm 6'5" and it was annoying after a while (we stayed 3 weeks) -no bath tub, just a small stand up shower stall in upstairs bath -no washer/dryer, no dishwasher (there was a nice laundromat in town we used 3x, not a huge deal but not super convenient) All in all we had a great time and we highly recommend it!
Such a comfortable and cozy home! Great location. Quiet neighborhood yet very near to shopping and restaurants.
