We loved the ambiance and the view! It was a perfect getaway close to the harbor for dinning and shopping. Nice to be away from the inns and traffic of downtown. Very relaxing and the view of the harbor was amazing. If you love the sound of rope tightening and a bell from a sailboat it is perfect. This put me right to sleep at night. Beautiful sunrise in the morning over the harbor!
Great location, clean house, comfortable beds. loved our weekend stay. Could use a few more glasses and cooking utensils
The house was lovely and the view outstanding. We would definitely return for another vacation.
First the good; the camp had beautiful views of Linekin Bay. We saw lots of wildlife and lobster boats pulling their traps. The walk to Linekin Resort was nice and we enjoyed a lunch and dinner there. The camp is located close to Boothbay Harbor and we enjoyed visiting there and the Maine Botanical Gardens. The not so good; the beach was very difficult to get to as the rocks were steep and sometimes slippery. It would be difficult to get a small child or someone with mobility issues down there. The second beach on the left side we never found as the rocks were steep and slippery. Although the camp is rustic, which was expected, the new windows on the first floor didn’t have screens, nor did any of the old windows, so it was impossible to get any kind of a cross breeze going, luckily; we brought extra fans but there are very few outlets. The couch is terribly uncomfortable and the only place to sit. The couch covering was dirty. The bathroom upstairs is tiny and very difficult to maneuver in even for one person. None of the bedspreads appeared to have been washed recently. We found several bugs in one of the beds, luckily it wasn’t needed. All in all, we made the best of it but the camp needs a deep cleaning and a new couch. Also, gates on porch would have been nice for children and pets and a baby gate for the top of the stairs.
Great location near Boothbay and right on the water with a deck with views across the bay. The sound of the tide coming in at night was dreamy. Watched a lobsterman tend his pots in the morning. Cottage is very clean and fully supplied with everything you need for a few days. It's not fancy but just what my friends and I were looking for. Comfortable for up to 4 people (3 bedrooms). The exterior needs obvious work and the grounds could be tidied up but it has enough charm to offset that! Jane from Rhode Island
..the view but it was diminished by an old deck and overgrown trees and an old picnic table that took up most of that space
