Good spot for the Fly-in weekend.
The house was great as well as the location. Close to town, easy to get to atv trails. It was nice to be right on the lake
Beautiful house with all the necessary amenities. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, and relaxing by the lake. We also took a lovely ferry ride to Mount Kineo. House easily accommodated our party of six adults and five children. Plenty of room !! We will definitely go back!!
Location and a lot of room. You do need better pots and pans for cooking .
The lake front view was incredible, listening and watching the sea planes coming and going was a lot of fun. However after walking around the property and settling in you begin to notice the rental hasn't had a deep clean or been thoughtfully tended too in quite some time. There were cobwebs in all the corners of the house, between the banisters, above the cabinets, above the mirrors, and in all corners of the bathrooms. None of the board games or decks of cards shoved in a drawer had all their pieces. Empty DVD cases and children's coloring books were also found shoved in the wet bar's cabinets. One of the faucets in the kitchen didn't work and it was unclear how to turn on the heat in the a.m.. The outside of the property had plastic lawn chairs that needed to be pressure-washed, and a couple of them by the firepit were broken. Discarded items were also found under the porch with the grill. When I booked the rental I inquired about a later check-out because we were in town for a wedding to which was denied. However after checking into the rental an email was sent offering a later checkout for a fee. Needless to say for the amount of money and the very high cleaning fee being charged, I expected more. It was very apparent this property is managed by a corporation because there was not one personal touch in this rental. It was a disappointment to a celebrtoury weekend.
We loved the amazing views of Moosehead Lake which is just outside your door. The cabin was larger than expected and could easily have hosted several more people comfortably. We were surprised by how private and secluded it felt being just minutes away from Greenville center. Being located just next to Jack's Air Service, it was fun for the kids to watch the sea planes land and take off throughout the day. It can be loud at times but we didn't mind. We would definitely stay here again! One thing to note for all the swimmers out there; It is very shallow (3-4 1/2 feet max) for a very far distance from the dock so it's perfect for smaller children. Adults who want to really swim will need to go pretty far out into the lake.
