What our guests are saying...
Driftwood is described as a peaceful, relaxing retreat that feels welcoming and special, with a charming Maine character guests appreciated. The home is noted as comfortable, clean, well stocked, well appointed, and easy to settle into. Its quiet, private setting at the end of the road helped guests feel truly away from it all while still being close to Port Clyde. Guests especially loved the waterfront setting, spectacular water views, and beautiful sunsets from the deck and porch. The deck was a favorite place to enjoy coffee, unwind, and watch birds, seals, porpoises, and lobster boats pass by. Guests also appreciated thoughtful indoor touches such as books, games, a record player, and a vinyl collection.
Overview
Driftwood is one of those places - both in form and function - that feels distinctly Maine. Maybe it’s the pristine waterfront location at the end of a winding, private road just a mile or two from Port Clyde. Or perhaps it’s the way the house itself feels, thanks to an abundance of windows, clean lines, and a true sense of peace and quiet. Whatever it is, Driftwood is everything a stay in Maine should be.
A full deck (new in 2024 with new deck furniture as well) is a great place to overlook the vast, saltwater St. George River makes this space as comfortable for two people as it is for six. The first floor is more or less an open-concept space, with a comfortable living room that flows easily into the dining area with seating for six. Access to the front deck is right here as well, where you'll find plenty of outdoor seating, a grill, and just about the nicest views you could ever want at any time of day. The galley-style kitchen includes a full-size gas stove and a dishwasher, and it's well-equipped for meal preparation.
The primary bedroom is also on this floor, tucked away at the back of the house in a sunny, spacious spot. Upstairs, find two more bedrooms, both of which are bright and sunny with beds close to the windows, so you can hear the water lap on the shore as you fall asleep.
The shore is easily accessible by a well-worn path - the owners of Driftwood report this area is just right for kayaking and paddleboarding. The villages of Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor are both within a few minutes' drive, with Sandy Drift Inn Beach minutes away as well.

We loved our time at Driftwood. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you might need. The home was very clean and comfortable. We will come back!
Very nice spot and comfortable-We were supposed to be five adults, one small child and a dog - Due to illness in the family we ended up being only 3 adults and visiting dog (for a bit ) - Pretty clear that Driftwood is a well loved house!
The deck provided a wonderful place to enjoy sunsets, spot porpoises, seals, and members of a nearby bald eagle family. Our family loved our week at Driftwood.
We loved the "end of the road" solitude and the tranquil view.
Private location and views of water, sunset, eagles, osprey, seals.
We loved the location. It was beautiful.
