Overview

An incredible gem inside and out, this lakefront retreat is just the place for your next family vacation! Spend beautiful days fishing in the lake, picnicking on the dock, playing a round of horseshoes, or playing on the grassy lawn surrounded by fall foliage! Or, host a summer cookout on the new outdoor deck with a built-in bench. Head inside when everyone builds up an appetite and take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen boasting stainless steel appliances to whip up delicious snacks or a gourmet dinner. If you don't feel like calling it a day just yet, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and cozy up on the patio furniture and rug on the seasonal farmer's porch as the sun dips towards the lake. The propane firepit is a perfect place to stargaze as you reminisce with loved ones. As nights come to a close, the TV and free WiFi will keep everyone entertained until they doze off to the sound of the wind blowing through the trees outside.

Sitting along the bank of Sebec Lake, there will be no shortage of lake activities like kayaking, fishing, and boating, mere steps from your back door! When you have had your fill of spring fishing or fall hikes, make your way into Dover-Foxcroft proper, just six miles away, and grab a bite to eat. A day of hiking will be just a mile and a half from home base at Peaks-Kenny State Park for even more outdoor adventure. Don't miss out on the winter activities; this is also an excellent location for snowmobiling and snowshoeing!

The house was nicely secluded and private. Perfect view of the lake and inside was a perfect set up. Will be staying here again

This truly felt as comfortable as our own home. Beautiful water frontage, perfect for kiddos, dogs, kayaking and swimming! The furniture was all comfy, kitchen fully stocked. Not too close to neighbors, at the end of the dead end road. Really, it was a perfect getaway!

This was a great find. We brought our boat and had our own private dock. We enjoyed sitting and watching the sunset, playing corn hole, and having a fire. We used the screened patio quite a bit. This spot was central to everything we wanted to visit. We enjoyed fishing, traveling to Acadia, Moosehead, and Baxter State Park (where we were able to see moose). We are sad to leave. We had such an adventurous week with our friends. Note- not great service but we enjoyed being off the grid

This house has just about everything you need in the way of amenities to enjoy a relaxing vacation. From a kitchen with all of the appliances and cookware (even an Instant-Pot and slow cooker) to lots of seating and tables to put things on in the living room and porch, to ample space in the bedrooms so you don't have to "live out of a suitcase". There's even a front-load clothes washer and dryer that you don't have to pay extra to use. One thing that I would like to point out is that all of the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. There is a solid staircase with a good handrail going to the 2nd floor, but for those who cannot climb stairs, this could be a potential issue. The neighboring houses are separated by ample trees so the setting is fairly private. The lake is easy access for swimming with a sloped sandy area to walk right in. There's also a good dock if you have a boat to tie up. There's a nice deck with table and chairs, as well as a fire pit, right near the water. If you're thinking of bringing a laptop and doing a bit of remote work while staying at this house, that could be an issue. As of June, 2023, the internet technology is DSL, and for us, it hardly worked. It kept going off and on, and when it was on, it was very very slow. I suspect there may have been a line issue that could get fixed, but DSL is a very finicky technology (but probably the only option here). Using a cell phone as a hot spot is also not a viable option. There's only one tower in the area that is accessible it is Band 2 operated by AT&T; Verizon has an agreement to use extended network ("Domestic Roaming") with this tower, and although I couldn't verify, I suspect T-Mobile does as well. Hence, this tower is very oversubscribed - my data speeds were abysmal to unusable. I tried hot spots with Verizon phones and tables and an AT&T phone, and nothing yielded usable results for streaming or online game play (Nintendo Switch games). If you're looking to get away and disconnect, this shouldn't be an issue, but if you're looking for a place to relax and also do a bit of remote work, you might want to check into the current state of the internet connection(s) available at the time of your rental. All-in-all, this house had everything we needed. We just had to buy the groceries.
