Coastal Dream - Bodega Bay Dog-Friendly Ocean-View Cottage with Hot Tub

Spend mornings watching fog lift off the Pacific from the wrap-around deck, afternoons beachcombing for shells, driftwood, and sea glass at Schoolhouse Beach and Carmet Beach (both a short walk from the door), and evenings grilling fresh oysters as the sun drops over the water. Coastal Dream sits in the quiet, quaint Carmet neighborhood on the Sonoma Coast, with all-new nautical and beachy furnishings throughout. Sink into the coastal-chic sofas in the sunlit living room, where ocean-inspired artwork lines the white-paneled walls and an HDTV is ready for foggy-afternoon movies. Sliding glass doors pull the deck and ocean view straight into the room. Cook with everything you need in the galley kitchen — granite counters, stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and stove handle anything from coffee to a full crab feast. Meals inside happen at one small round table in the corner of the room. OUTDOOR LIVING Step onto the wrap-around wooden deck where the private hot tub waits beneath the coastal sky. Your cottage sits in the peaceful Carmet neighborhood, where ocean breezes carry the calls of seabirds and the distant sound of waves. You're perfectly positioned for coastal adventures — both Carmet Beach and Schoolhouse Beach are just a 5-minute walk (0.1 miles) from your door, offering tide pools, driftwood treasures, and stunning sunsets. The dramatic Arched Rock Overlook awaits just half a mile away, while Salmon Creek State Beach stretches out 1.2 miles north for beachcombing and surfing. For dining, the legendary Spud Point Crab Company serves their famous crab sandwiches and award-winning clam chowder just 3.1 miles away at the harbor. Closer options include Sea Flower Cafe (2.6 miles) for morning espresso and Terrapin Creek (2.7 miles) for special occasion dinners. Stock up on essentials at Pelican Plaza Grocery & Deli (3.0 miles) or Diekmann's Bay Store (3.1 miles).

Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. You'll have two parking spaces in the driveway. A car makes exploring the Sonoma Coast effortless — it unfolds for miles in either direction. Cell service is light along the coast, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is a good idea.

• While the cottage doesn't have air conditioning, the coastal location keeps it naturally cool — ocean breezes flow through the home, and fog often moderates summer temperatures to the comfortable 60s and low 70s. • Your furry friends are welcome here (maximum 2 dogs), with easy beach access for morning walks. • The home stays connected with reliable internet for remote work or streaming. • The primary renter must be 21 or older. • Pro tip: Mornings here are magical — take your coffee out to the deck to watch the fog lift off the Pacific. • The hot tub is perfect for star gazing on clear nights. • Keep binoculars handy for spotting whales from the deck during migration season (December through May). • The galley kitchen is compact but well-equipped for preparing your fresh seafood haul from local markets. • The garage is too small for a guest car. Park both cars in the driveway.
