Overview
The Russian River flows past your deck while you soak in the hot tub under towering redwoods. This vibrant mid-century home welcomes you and your pup with bold turquoise furnishings and a covered outdoor lounge complete with firepit and TV. Sleeps 6 across three bedrooms. Just a half-mile stroll to Monte Rio Beach and the town's beloved ice cream shop. Settle into river time where the only agenda is watching the water flow by and the redwoods sway overhead.
Spend mornings on the deck as mist lifts off the Russian River, afternoons floating the river or visiting Korbel and Joseph Jewell tasting rooms, and evenings around the firepit with the day's bottles. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace (firewood not provided) with a wood-burning stove anchors the great room (live November through March). Turquoise sofas angle toward the smart TV as sliding glass doors frame the river beyond. Navy cabinetry with yellow accents and a modern range hood over the gas range make the U-shaped kitchen the visual statement of the home. The dining area sets the group on contemporary chairs, the river view never far from any seat. OUTDOOR LIVING The covered lounge features turquoise wicker seating around a gas firepit with mounted TV, heat lamps, and roll-down shades for year-round use. Your private hot tub on the wraparound deck delivers river and redwood views. Outdoor dining sits under string lights, and a gas grill tucks behind wood privacy fencing. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The primary bedroom features a king bed with floating nightstands and reading lights. A second king bedroom offers a retreat. The third bedroom holds two double beds — ideal for kids or extra guests. Dog-friendly. Sleeps 6. PROPERTY AMENITIES -- Private hot tub -- Gas grill -- Covered outdoor lounge with firepit and TV -- Full kitchen with dishwasher -- No washer/dryer on-site -- Air conditioning
Step into a great room anchored by a stone fireplace wall (firewood not provided) and a turquoise-and-navy palette, then drift out to the hot-tub deck as the river valley opens up. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with a BBQ, outdoor dining, and a balcony off the main level. Let yourself in with the Yale keypad code; one spot in front of the gate, one behind, plus on-street across from the home.
Monte Rio embodies the unhurried charm of old-school Russian River life, where the iconic 1950s neon sign still promises "Vacation Wonderland." You're just a half-mile stroll to Monte Rio Beach with its volleyball courts and seasonal kayak rentals, perfect for family river days. Steps away, grab morning coffee at Lightwave Coffee & Kitchen (0.6 miles) or stock up on essentials at Fern's Market (0.3 miles). For a memorable meal, the historic Highland Dell Lodge (0.4 miles) serves German-American fare with river views, while Boho Manor (0.4 miles) offers a Gatsby-themed dining experience. Golfers will appreciate being minutes from the legendary Northwood Golf Club, a 9-hole Alister MacKenzie masterpiece set among towering redwoods. Wine enthusiasts can reach Korbel Champagne Cellars in just 5 minutes, while Porter-Bass Winery (2.6 miles) and other Russian River Valley tasting rooms dot the nearby countryside.
Monte Rio is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a winding drive through redwoods and river country. You'll have two parking spaces: one in front of the gate or one behind it, plus additional street parking across from the home. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.
The home has air conditioning, and the river breeze, shaded setting, and ceiling fans throughout keep things naturally comfortable even on warm days. River access from the property is currently off-limits due to storm damage, but Monte Rio Beach is an easy half-mile walk for swimming and launching kayaks. The wood-burning stove (firewood not provided) adds cozy ambience but is only available November through March. Since there's no washer/dryer, pack accordingly or plan a midweek laundry run to Guerneville. The covered outdoor lounge is a special touch — those heat lamps and roll-down shades mean you can enjoy evening gatherings even when the famous Russian River fog rolls in. Download your streaming service apps before arrival to enjoy movies on both the indoor and outdoor TVs. Quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM help preserve Monte Rio's peaceful small-town character. The primary renter must be 21 or older.

No river access but lovely spot just the same. Close to the public beach by a short walk along the highway. Deck and hot tub are superb! The grilling pavilion with the fire pit was perfect for hanging out. The pup loved the place too! Coffee nook was great to start the day. I would love to stay here again and again!
What a great spot… too bad there was no access to the river. That would have made the trip a lot more memorable. Thank you for not putting a TV in every room! The induction stove took some getting used to, but we managed. Beautiful home, very clean, great outdoor hangout spaces. Would definitely return!
The house has great views from the deck. It is very close to highway 116 so there is a lot of road noise which can make it hard to sleep for those sensitive to noise.
Very clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Wonderful view.
Great house and location. Everything you need is there. Would definitely go back.
This was the perfect getaway for my family. There is rustic feel, yet all the city amenities we are used to. Our kids loved the open layout from the kitchen and living room to the back deck. Beautiful decor and large glass doors to view the river makes you feel like you’re outside with the comforts of inside. The hot tub in the cool of the evening was the perfect cap to each relaxing day. We will definitely use this property again.
