Overview
Creek water murmurs just beyond the meadow as you sip coffee on the patio of this redwood hideaway. This modern secluded forest sanctuary sleeps 4 with a gas fireplace and your own private redwood grove. Marimar Estate's vineyard tasting room is just 5 minutes away, The Barlow's food scene 10 minutes. After exploring Sebastopol's artsy downtown, return to your 6-acre hideaway where a footbridge leads to evening walks along the creek. The forest feels like it's all yours here.
This contemporary barn-style home sits among the trees of Sebastopol, where clean lines, soaring vaulted ceilings, and walls of glass create an airy sanctuary that blurs the boundary between indoors and out. From your first step inside, the architecture commands attention — stone, glass, and wood conspire to make the forest feel like part of the room. The living space centers around a stone gas fireplace beneath the vaulted ceiling, its flames flickering as you sink into the tan leather sofa or settle back in the burgundy recliner. A flat-screen TV on the wooden console offers entertainment, while sliding glass doors with vertical blinds open wide to the patio, pulling greenery into your line of sight. The galley kitchen flows naturally from this gathering space, featuring light maple cabinets, speckled granite counters, and a white subway tile backsplash. Cook on the gas range while gazing out at greenery through the window above the undermount sink, with stainless steel appliances and a built-in dishwasher keeping everything efficient. Conversations gather easily around the antique dining table, where wine pours and stories flow. OUTDOOR LIVING Step onto the brick paver patio where a trestle dining table seats six beneath a blue market umbrella — mountain views stretching beyond the maintained lawn. The grounds give way to dense forest, and a wooden footbridge leads you through the trees to the creek. Wander to the far right of the back meadow and you'll discover Gabe's Grove, a secluded redwood circle with its own bench and picnic table. Fire up the gas grill as the forest comes alive with twilight sounds. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The primary bedroom envelops you in calm — a dark wood bed frame with slatted headboard, matching dresser with TV, and a sliding glass door that opens directly to the outdoors.
