Overview
Breathe in the scent of coastal redwoods as you step onto your private patio in this forest canyon hideaway. Your dogs will love the enclosed yard while you grill dinner under towering trees. This 2-bedroom retreat sleeps 5, with a queen primary and a kids’ bunk room for family getaways. Just 0.4 miles from Rio Nido Roadhouse's live music and craft beers, 1.6 miles from Armstrong Redwoods' ancient groves. The Russian River flows just a half-mile away — afternoon swims and redwood silence await.
Tucked beneath the towering redwood canopy of Rio Nido, this updated 855-square-foot home greets you with light-filled rooms, warm wood tones, and modern finishes that strike a balance between contemporary comfort and forest charm. From the moment you step inside, light laminate flooring and clean lines guide you into a space that feels both polished and perfectly relaxed. The open living area invites you to settle into the beige sectional sofa, cherry wood coffee table within easy reach, and a wall-mounted TV ready for movie nights. A blue and gray striped area rug anchors the seating area, while windows draped in gray curtains filter soft, dappled light from the forest outside. The kitchen flows just steps away, showcasing extensive cherry-colored cabinetry with raised panel doors and speckled granite countertops in warm beige and brown tones. Stainless steel appliances — refrigerator, over-the-range microwave, and stove — handle every meal, and a light tile backsplash completes the neutral palette. Pull up a chair at the wooden dining table and gather your group for dinner together. OUTDOOR LIVING Your private patio beckons with a glass-top table and four gray chairs set on stone pavers — the ideal spot for morning coffee under the redwoods. The enclosed yard, bordered by wooden fencing with decorative lattice work, gives your dog free rein to explore safely. Fire up the gas grill for dinner as ground cover plants and ivy provide natural privacy all around. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The primary bedroom offers a peaceful retreat with a queen bed dressed in white and gray floral bedding, cherry wood furniture including a dresser with mirror, and its own wall-mounted TV. Down the hall, the second bedroom features wooden bunk beds — a full-size lower bunk and twin upper bunk — with playful blue space-patterned curtains and small turquoise chairs that make it a hit with kids. Altogether, the home comfortably sleeps 5. Cook in an open kitchen lined in cherry-wood cabinets, then drift out to a private fenced patio surrounded by tall trees in this redwood-canyon hamlet. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with a BBQ, an enclosed yard, and built-in bunks for the kids. Punch in the keypad code at the door; two small cars fit directly in front of the home (the narrow neighborhood streets don't allow on-street parking).
Your Rio Nido retreat puts you at the heart of Russian River wine country while tucked into a quiet redwood canyon. Walk 0.4 miles to Rio Nido Roadhouse for craft beers, pub food, and weekend live music under the trees. The Bar and Cafe at The Rio Nido Lodge sits the same distance away for morning coffee. Your dogs will appreciate Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park just 0.3 miles down the road. Drive 1.6 miles to explore the ancient groves of Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, or head 0.9 miles to La Fogata Taco Truck for authentic Mexican flavors. The Russian River flows just half a mile away with swimming access, while downtown Guerneville's shops and restaurants await 1.9 miles south. Wine enthusiasts can reach Korbel Winery in 1.4 miles, with dozens more tasting rooms within a 10-minute drive. For provisions, MD Liquor and Food 8 stocks basics 1.9 miles away, or drive to Safeway (2.1 miles) for full grocery shopping.
Rio Nido is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through redwoods and river country. Your home includes parking for 2 vehicles directly in front (small cars recommended due to tight space). A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.
This cozy retreat stays naturally cool thanks to the shading redwood canopy — most summer days here are 10-15 degrees cooler than inland areas. Two security cameras monitor the exterior: one at the front corner viewing the driveway and road, another at the back facing the fence. Your High-speed internet keeps you connected when cell signals fade in the canyon. The primary renter must be 21 or older. While the home sits in a quiet residential area, the Rio Nido Roadhouse often hosts live music on weekends that carries through the canyon until 9 PM. Your enclosed yard gives dogs a safe space to roam, and miles of shaded roads make for excellent walking. The Russian River beach access lies just half a mile away for afternoon swims, while Goat Rock Beach in Jenner is 16.5 miles west for dramatic Pacific coastline.
You must be 21 years or older to rent this property.Amenities

It was clean and well kept up. We had no problem with noise but the area is pretty crowded with houses.
Walking distance to the Rio Nido Roadhouse and Lodge, pet friendly with fenced in backyard. Would stay here again.
Well appointed, immaculate cabin. Cabin: 10; Location: 3
We enjoyed our stay in Rio Nido! We walked to the lodge for dinner most nights and access to the river was close by. The internet was fast and kept us connected while working remotely for a few days. Looking forward to our next stay in this cute house in the redwoods!
Though small and secluded in a wooded community, this home boasts an open floor plan, big functional kitchen, and short drive to urban ammenities like restaurants, theaters, and shops.
This house is a cute little place with 1 queen bed and a bunk bed. It's tucked way in the back on a quiet neighborhood. It was a nice place to chill and relax.
