Overview
Salmon Creek flows past your deck as harbor seals play in the tidal waters below. Curl up by the gas fireplace with your pup after exploring the beach — just a short walk away. This intimate cottage for two sits directly on the water with sweeping views across the creek to distant hills. Spud Point's legendary crab sandwiches are 1.5 miles south. Your front door opens to the wild Sonoma Coast, where gray whales pass in winter and the sound of the Pacific carries on the breeze.
Spend mornings on the bluff as fog burns off the Pacific, afternoons exploring the Sonoma Coast's tide pools and trails, and evenings around the dining table with fresh crab from the harbor. A turquoise sectional and matching armchair gather around a woven rattan coffee table, the gas fireplace anchoring the room beneath exposed white ceiling beams. Large windows frame the wetlands and Salmon Creek beyond. The kitchenette runs along one wall with open shelving, a white-tile backsplash, a full-size fridge, and a toaster oven — enough for simple meals but no full oven or dishwasher, so plan one or two dinners out at The Casino in Bodega. A natural wood dining table seats four by the window. OUTDOOR LIVING Step onto the wooden deck with wire cable railing to take in panoramic views of Salmon Creek and the surrounding wetlands. Red wooden chairs and blue Adirondack chairs provide multiple spots to settle in, while a gas grill and red-and-white striped patio umbrella make outdoor dining a delight. String lights create warm ambiance for evening relaxation as the sun dips below the waterline. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The bedroom offers a queen bed with a white headboard and coral accent pillows beneath exposed white ceiling beams. A tall wooden armoire provides ample storage, and pendant lighting with nautical wall decor complete the coastal retreat. The cottage comfortably sleeps 2. PROPERTY AMENITIES -- 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom -- Gas fireplace -- Gas grill -- Waterfront deck with seating -- Dog-friendly (up to 4 dogs welcome) -- Smart lock entry
Pour a glass on the harbor-side deck and watch the bay from a cottage finished in white beams and coastal blues — the gas fireplace catches the chill once the wind picks up. The whole cottage is yours, dogs included, with ocean and river views from inside. Punch in the keypad code at the door, and tuck two cars in out front.
You're perfectly positioned in Salmon Creek, where the creek meets the Pacific just two miles north of Bodega Bay proper. Salmon Creek State Beach awaits just 0.4 miles away — a short walk for morning beach strolls with your pup. The legendary Spud Point Crab Company (1.5 mi) serves their famous crab sandwiches and award-winning clam chowder that draw lines on weekends. For morning coffee, Sea Flower Cafe (1.0 mi) is your closest option, or try Roadhouse Coffee (1.1 mi). When hunger strikes, Terrapin Creek (1.1 mi) offers upscale coastal cuisine, while The Boat House (1.3 mi) serves casual fare with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Stock up on essentials at Pelican Plaza Grocery & Deli (1.4 mi) or Diekmann's Bay Store (1.4 mi). Nature lovers will appreciate the Sonoma Coast State Marine Conservation Area (0.3 mi) and multiple beach access points. Chanslor Ranch (0.5 mi) offers horseback riding along the coast. The Coastal Prairie Trail (0.9 mi) provides easy hiking with ocean views.
Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. You'll have parking for two vehicles at the cottage. Note: during king high tide events, the road and parking area may temporarily flood — check tide schedules before your trip. A car makes exploring the Sonoma Coast effortless — it unfolds for miles in either direction. Cell service is light along the coast, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is a good idea.
The kitchenette is perfect for simple meals but lacks a full oven and dishwasher — plan accordingly or enjoy the many excellent local restaurants. The cottage stays naturally cool thanks to coastal breezes and doesn't have air conditioning — you'll rarely need it here where summer highs reach only the 60s. Salmon Creek Beach is an easy walk from your door — perfect for morning dog walks. Keep your pup leashed near the creek as harbor seals often rest on the banks. The gas grill on the deck is ideal for grilling fresh seafood from local markets. Internet is provided though speeds may vary. The primary renter must be 21 or older. The string lights on the deck create magical evenings — the switch is just inside the sliding door. Please be aware that during king high tide events, the road and parking area may experience temporary flooding. Check tide schedules if you're arriving during a king tide.
You must be 21 years or older to rent this property.Amenities

We ended up being double charged for our dog thanks to Vacasa pricing our stay at their rate plus the dog.
The place was really clean
Very comfortable home. Had everything you would need. A great view from every room. Small but nice for a couple.
The setting is very nice but the furniture is not very comfortable, the WiFi is very slow and teh TV streaming constantly buffers. Since the place is for sale I would assume the owner has no intention of upgrading.
The location is unbelievable. We could have stayed a week. It looks like it is for sale now. We hope it continues to be a rental; we would return in a heartbeat.
Very inviting, cozy and adorable cottage. Comfy sofa sectional and cute beach themed decor. Great views of Salmon Creek and the dunes beyond. Only hiccup was the internet was down the entire stay. Vacasa did reimburse for the loss of amenities, so that helped. But, overall it was a lovely stay!
