Overview

Towering redwoods surround you as you sip morning coffee on the deck, your pup exploring the wooded yard below. This 2-bedroom cottage tucked into Guerneville's quiet forest offers a gas fireplace for cozy evenings and room for 5. Just 0.6 miles from Saucy Mama's soul food and 2.5 miles from Armstrong Redwoods' ancient groves. The Russian River's lazy current and downtown's eclectic energy await — but you might just stay put among the trees.

A warm cottage in the redwood canopy, where hardwood floors and vintage furnishings create an inviting Russian River retreat. At 896 square feet, this dog-friendly getaway wraps you in charm from the moment you arrive. You step into a living room anchored by a brick fireplace with an orange-coral mantel. A reclining sofa with colorful pillows faces the TV above, while sliding glass doors flood the space with filtered forest light and open to the deck. The full kitchen offers maple cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, with multiple coffee makers for your morning ritual. A dining table alongside doubles for game nights and adventure planning. OUTDOOR LIVING Multiple decks extend your living into the redwood canopy. The main deck holds a picnic table for alfresco dining, a gas grill, and cushioned chairs. A second deck includes a fire pit table with seating. Wine barrels repurposed as planters add charm throughout. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Two queen bedrooms provide restful retreats — one with ornate patterned bedding and wooden dresser, the other with contemporary neutral tones. A basement twin bed offers flexibility for a fifth guest. Sleeps 5. PROPERTY AMENITIES -- Gas fireplace -- Full kitchen -- Gas grill -- Multiple decks with outdoor furniture -- Fire pit table -- Fast Wi-Fi (93 Mbps down / 39 Mbps up) -- TV in each room -- Dog-friendly (max 2 dogs, 35 lbs each) -- Parking for 2

Light the brick fireplace under its wooden mantel, then step out to one of multiple deck spaces that thread between the towering trees. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with rich hardwood floors and a balcony off the main level. Punch in the keypad code on arrival; two parking spots wait on the gravel drive next to the house.

Your Guerneville retreat puts you in the heart of Russian River wine country while surrounded by towering redwoods. Walk 0.6 miles to Saucy Mama's for soul food or 0.8 miles to the famous Guerneville Taco Truck at Safeway for legendary breakfast burritos. Downtown's eclectic dining scene includes La Bodeguita Panino (0.9 mi) and Koala's Fine Food (0.8 mi). For morning coffee, The Lodge at Dawn Ranch is just 0.7 miles away. Stock up on groceries at Safeway (0.8 mi) or grab essentials at Fern's Market (2.1 mi). The ancient groves of Armstrong Redwoods await 2.5 miles north, while Korbel Winery's historic champagne cellars are 2.7 miles east. Take your pup to Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park (2.4 mi) or explore Patterson Point Preserve (1.5 mi). Summer river floating at Johnson's Beach and Guerneville River Park are both about a mile away. The Sonoma Coast's dramatic cliffs and beaches lie 20 minutes west via scenic Highway 116.

Guerneville is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through vineyards and into the redwoods. You'll have two dedicated parking spots in the gravel driveway next to the house. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.

A Ring camera at the front door supports your security. High-speed WiFi keeps you connected for streaming or remote work. While there's no air conditioning, the home stays naturally cool thanks to the shading redwood canopy and cross-ventilation through the sliding doors — most guests find the ceiling fans and forest breeze perfectly comfortable even in summer. The gas fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere on chilly evenings. Cell service can be spotty throughout the Russian River area, but the strong WiFi keeps you connected. The primary renter must be 21 or older. The basement bedroom with twin bed is accessed via interior stairs. For the best river floating experience, rent tubes at Johnson's Beach early in the day during summer weekends when parking fills up fast.

You must be 21 years or older to rent this property.

clean and comfortable

Andrea H2026-01-11

We loved our stay at the Creek House. It was comfortable for our family of 4 and dog. The kitchen was well stocked and the gas fireplace was great. The artwork was interesting and the house was well designed and appointed. The bathroom had a heated floor and toilet seat! Our only area of improvement would be that we were unable to use the great outdoor deck overlooking the creek since there had been a big rainstorm and a lot of debris and branches had fallen on the deck. It was not swept or cleared/cleaned for us and was basically wet, dirty and usable during our stay. This area gets a lot of rain in the winter, so to be expected, but something to be aware of. We will hopefully return in the summer.

We throughly enjoyed our 5 days over Thanksgiving week at the Creek House, which was very comfortable for 4 adults. It’s close to the enchanting Armstrong woods, and less than an hour to historic Fort Ross. Took in a wonderful sunset sipping hot drinks at Aquatic Coffee in Jenner, strolled Guernville perusing the interesting shops. Thanks for sharing your special spot.

Exactly what we needed for a relaxing games-and-talk weekend with friends.

I love the layout of the house. The house was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. Having a fireplace with a dual reclining sofa was nice while watching movies. It felt like home.
