Tower Shores - 39578 Admiral Road

Such a cute cottage for a beach stay. Plenty of good things about this home but it does need some attention. We enjoyed our stay here and would return. Pros and cons during our 3-night visit: 1) this owner accepts stays less than a full week; 2) the location is so close to the beach, which is private and not crowded; 3) the house was well-stocked, including an outdoor grill which we used; 4) overall, the house was clean with a few stray things left behind from past renters (e.g., a toy pig left under the coffee table so probably not vacuumed); 5) TV and couches in living room area were great during the stormy weather; 6) linens are provided and we had an ample supply of good quality sheets and towels; 7) parking at property for as many as 3 cars. Cons: 1) the toilet takes a very long time to fill after flushing - there were just 2 of us so it wasn't a problem but with a larger family, it could get annoying; 2) the bathtub knobs only work for showers - worked fine for us but for families who may want to use a bathtub would be a problem; 3) the queen mattress we slept on was not that comfortable and the bed makes a lot of noise whenever you move; the bedframe was smashed so that may have contributed to the problem; 4) the dishwasher smells really bad and could use a good cleaning with instructions not to close completely when not running so as to trap smells.

The beach access for this property is it's only convenience and amenity. When we booked this property we expected it to be rustic, not neglected. Efforts have been made to reach out to customer service, but over a week has passed and there has been no response. So, here are all of the issues that we experienced while staying at this property: vomit on the bed frame, dirty clothes left under a bed, floors were filthy Bedroom doors do not close properly, one door is falling apart Bath water retention does not work, shower function is broken Refrigerator leaks water, refrigerator door is broken Stove burner does not work This property should no longer be available for rent until some upkeep is undertaken.

We had a great stay—it was the perfect location for us with young kids going back and forth from the beach to the house. The walls are thin, so we did hear our kids as soon as they woke up with the sun… Overall, the house more than met our needs, and we’d love to come back!

Great beach cabin

We loved everything about this cute, comfy and relaxing cottage. It had a very homey feel, and was well stocked with everything we needed. The property is SO CLOSE to the beach, which was really nice and made it easy to go back and forth. The vibe in this house is different than other houses at the beach, and we liked it so much more!

We loved our stay at the cabin in Tower Shores. It’s our favorite neighborhood in Bethany because of the private beach steps away and Matt’s Fish Camp restaurant at the end of the street. The cabin is rustic, but is nicely furnished and well stocked. We had issues with the AC but they were quickly addressed. We look forward to visiting again!
