We had a great stay! The house has a great old beachy feel. We loved the porch and had coffee out there in the mornings and loved being able to open the doors to the house to get a breeze on cooler evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed - plenty of tupperware and cooking stuff. Beds were comfy and we love the outdoor shower. We had a great trip! If you want a more authentic beach feel this is the place.
We loved the old charm and beach house architecture. It was a comfortable home. We hope to come back one day.
This is a uniquely beautiful house that is within an easy walk to the beach. The kitchen, living room and dining area provide a perfect place to relax and enjoy some fresh seafood!
Great spot with access to a private beach.
Middlesex Beach is a great place to stay! The beach isn’t crowded and the community is very nice. The house is an original cottage to the area (versus the tear down and rebuilds around). So it had the darker wood and older interior. It had all we needed and was very comfortable. It is in the pine trees which we enjoy about this area and I loved the porch to sit and read on. The two additional bedrooms are on the porch away from the main house so may be better for teens and adults to stay in this area. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
We liked its unique floor plan and privacy. It has a unique vibe you wont get anywhere else in Bethany. The beach and the lifeguards are top notch. All and all, it did the job. However the house is really tucked back in the woods, which doesn't allow for a lot of daylight to come through which isn't ideal. The individual AC units in each room make for a loud experience. In the main bathroom, there is no ventilation, which causes a musty smell and the shower curtain have mold. Also, the master bedroom door was the noisiest thing ever due to the humidity and expanded wood. It was impossible for one of use to not wake the other up when trying to leave and enter the bedroom. It was cool to experience it as a change of pace, but likely not a return visit.
