Riverview Cottage

I booked a home for 8 travelers. We understand that some beds are typically a pullout or less comfortable than others… but there is at least a bed for the number advertised. That was not the case. There was 6 beds- period and a futon like couch that the smallest of us (5’2”) barely fit on and forced our last person to find an alternative hotel room- which ultimately lead to our futon holder to utilize as well because of the impossibility of sleeping on the “pull out”. I can forgive a lot of things, but added coat and scrambling for a hotel on a busy weekend is not one of them. We also had frozen pipes that wouldn’t allow for the water to drain on our first morning- no shower, toilet, sink- for 6 guys… not a great scene. I will give a fair call out then when reported, maintenance responded quickly to fix the issue. Between that and the accessibility and layout of the home (for 6 people) are the only reason this isn’t a lower review. That said- I’ll hold the remainder of my review to see how the management responds to my request for compensatory measures to offset the added costs we incurred from the lack of beds.

Quaint little cottage close to downtown and has everything you need to enjoy time in Eagle River and the surrounding areas.

Great access to ATV trails, bike trails and downtown Eagle River. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels. There are fans distributed throughout the house with air conditioning window units in 2 of the bedrooms. The house faces the Kwik Trip car wash and there are pickleball courts in the back. We primarily used the house as a place to sleep and spent our time visiting family elsewhere. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable.

My family spent 3 nights here. The house was very clean and well kept. The rooms and furniture were modern and nice (not including the basement which has laundry facilities). There was more than enough room for the 4 of us and our dog. We were able to walk downtown in just a few minutes, and there was a nice park just behind the house. The house next door seemed a little rundown or abandoned, but it wasn't an issue. There seemed to be a lot of supplies in the kitchen, although we didn't get much use due to being out visiting with family and attending a wedding. We were happy to see there were AC units in the bedroom windows! Everything was quite comfortable and convenient overall. We received good communication with the host/owner via text message.

Comfortable and peaceful

The house was good for what we needed - a short weekend in Eagle River for a baseball tournament. The house is situated very near the "down town" of Eagle River. There is a little more traffic and noise than you would expect for being 'Up Nort' but it was fine. If you like pickleball you are in luck as there is a really nice public court steps away from the back door.
