Rating
We had a group of eight adults, four couples total including two pairs of seniors, and the house worked well for our trip to see the fall colors in the northwoods. The house is very private, quite, and well appointed. Access to the property is great and make sure to take note of the instructions for getting to the home provided by Vacasa. If we visit the area again we would certainly consider staying here again.
Great location, great amenities.
This home has everything for a family that loves the outdoors and all the comforts you could ask for. The fully stocked kitchen is great for family cooking. So much room, and the furnishings are beautiful. The beds are really comfortable. The kids caught fish off the dock and plenty of fire wood for campfires every night. Kayak, canoe and row boat also provided, and caught even more fish. There were no mosquitos! We have stayed here in Winter and Summer. It's great for any season.
Beautiful comfy cabin, dream kitchen.
This cabin is so private and beautiful that we didn’t want to leave! It is furnished so nice and has everything you need. Kayaking on the lake was so serene. The fish were biting all week and we caught dozens of fish. We saw a couple of otters sunning themselves on the downed trees at the edge of the lake. It was perfect weather in late September and we got to see the leaves getting more colorful every day. I can’t wait to visit this cabin again soon!
Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin! The home was clean and well-furnished. Rentals can often have cheap furnishings, bedding, etc. - understandable given you don't know how the renters will treat them. That was not the case here. The furniture and everything here were very nice and comfortable. Although there were touches of personal things that made it feel homey, it wasn't so overloaded with personal things that you felt you were intruding. The kitchen is large and has all the things needed for making meals. We enjoyed playing the games and watching movies in the large downstairs area as well. The kids LOVED the classic arcade game and so did the adults (who were taken back to their youth with PacMan, etc.). Beyond the house, the grounds are really wonderful. It's secluded. There is a great, well-maintained trail that goes down to the lake. It's a bit of a hill, but we had a person with a disability with us. He was able to navigate it without issues which really says something for the path. The lake is lovely as well. We hadn't anticipated the warmth visiting in the fall. We only wished we'd brought swimsuits. There is a kayak and canoe and life jackets which were all very nice for getting out on the water. The lake isn't big. I think we only saw one other dock on it, but that's what made it so wonderful. There are lots of lakes in this region with homes and docks stacked in around them. We really enjoyed having this lake pretty much to ourselves. The location is great as well. We were within a half hour of Wakefield or Manitowish Waters for groceries or restaurants. We drove up to the Porcupine Mountains which was a little more than an hour - easy drive. You could also get to Ironwood easily and the beaches north of there are fantastic for rockhounders (Little Girl Point did not disappoint). I only wish we had more time to explore the area and enjoy the house and property. We left with a hope to plan a time to return. The property was really well managed. Everything was clean. What we really appreciated was the communications. The instructions for getting in were clear, and there were follow-ups to make sure everything was going well during the stay. Check out was also easy. What I appreciated the most was the warning about the address. Most map apps auto correct to a different location on a nearby lake. Same road and number but E versus north. Based on the prompts from Vascasa, I double checked and made sure we had the right destination. Use the coordinates that they give you if there is any doubt and follow their description of the turns to help ensure you are on the right track. Note that cell reception is spotty in the Northwoods. Download the directions or print them. Again, thank you! We had a wonderful stay!
