Overview
Ever wanted to rent an entire Northwoods hotel for that weekend snowmobiling getaway, fishing, or ski trip (only 30 miles from the ski hills)? No problem - The Bear Lodge, sitting just 30 miles north of Minocqua and six miles north of Manitowish Waters, can make those dreams come true. The lodge sits directly on a snowmobile trailhead, and there's ample parking available in the lot for trailers, toys, and boats. If you're visiting in the summer, it's about a block to the South Turtle boat landing on the South Turtle, North Turtle, and Rock Lakes chain of lakes. Bring your fishing gear - all three offer great warm-weather and ice fishing for muskie, walleye, northern, and panfish. The lodge also has lake access with a dock for swimming and landing your boats.
Inside, you'll have the run of the lodge. There are six bedrooms, a bunk room, two men's bathrooms, and two women's bathrooms. The shared space includes a full-sized bar - BYO Leinie's, Korbel, cherries, and Sprite - with a back-of-bar dishwasher to help with cleanup. Set up a euchre or poker game at one of the many dining tables, listen to some tunes on the jukebox, or just lounge on the leather sectionals in front of the fireplace. There's another living room just around the corner if you can't agree on what to watch on TV.
More entertainment options include a fully loaded jukebox, a grand piano if you prefer live music, a pool table, and a foosball table built into one of the coffee tables. At mealtime, a gigantic commercial kitchen makes it easy to cook for a crowd, but note - there's no dishwasher, so nominate your cousin's friend who tagged along for dish duty. Another, smaller kitchen features a residential-sized fridge and several microwaves. Your cousin's friend wants a night off, and you can't make a decent old fashioned? Step out to a local supper club and let someone else cook that steak and mix those cocktails for you. Whether you're here to fish, boat, snowmobile, hike, ski, or just relax, you've found the perfect Northwoods retreat with the Bear Lodge.

Rating
I believe this was our 6th year renting the Bear Lodge we absolutely love it. Works great for larger groups we have so much fun!
Pros: BIG kitchen, full sized bar, very large lodge all to ourselves. Cons: We got 1 TV to work but couldn't figure out the other ones. It needs instructions as do the big speakers inside. Called Vacasa and asked if they had a grill and they said "No". However, there is a gas and charcoal grill on the grounds. Worked great. Also, it says no dishwasher.....but there is one and it worked great,.
Super fun place very clean and lots of room for large groups
We had a bachelor party at The Bear Lodge with a group of 15 guys. It was perfect for plenty of space and sleeping arrangements. The kitchen/bar areas were fantastic as we did not have to eat out at all. Right outside are the snowmobile trails, lake access for ice fishing and 25 minute drive to the ski hill. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be coming back! Overall I would give it a higher than 5 star experience for amenities, location, and fun overall!
Excellent place for large groups.
We had a nice family reunion in the summer. The house accommodated our large group in a comfortable way. The dock access requires a short walk through the woods, but we were able to use boats and jetskis for water sports and fishing.
