We had a great time at the Blue Eagle. The lake views were amazing and our family had a very comfortable stay. the downstairs area with the bunk bed room and living room were super cozy. We will definitely be back!
We had such a wonderful weekend getaway at this house! It was clean, warm, and inviting from the moment we arrived. The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful and made the perfect backdrop for our girls’ trip. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and there were plenty of bathroom essentials as well, which was such a nice touch. We especially loved relaxing by the cozy fireplace downstairs, and there was more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay—highly recommend!
We had such a great time during our weekend stay at this cabin in Eagle River! It was so cozy and peaceful — exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was super clean, comfortable, and had all the little touches that made it feel like home. We loved having coffee out on the porch in the morning and relaxing by the fire at night. The views of the lake from the home are breathtaking. The leaves are changing colors and it’s just beautiful this time of year. We rented a boat during the day and it was so fun! The location was perfect — quiet and tucked away, but still close to town for restaurants and shops. We can’t wait to go back!
While the inside of the house had been surface-cleaned, it quickly became obvious that a lot of areas were neglected. The decking and patio furniture hadn’t been touched—covered in cobwebs and dead bugs that a broom or leaf blower could have cleared in minutes. The front porch clearly hadn’t been swept in a very long time, which set the tone for the rest of the stay. There are a few positives: the family room couch and entertainment setup are nice, and the large kitchen table is great for gathering. Unfortunately, almost everything else feels like it was done as cheaply and quickly as possible. The half bath by the kitchen is a prime example—sloppy trim work, paint splatters on the floor, and even an unfinished section of wall behind the toilet. It looks like it was thrown together without any real care or skill. The basement is dark and unwelcoming, with a terrible shower. Water pressure throughout the house is weak, making both showers a disappointment. Outside, the property is even more concerning. The stairs to the dock are only half-repaired and have a railing on one side only—unsafe for kids or anyone with balance issues. The dock itself is in poor shape, with loose screw heads sticking up, making it painful and hazardous to walk on. The swimming area is unmaintained and uninviting, when just a little effort could have made it usable. Overall, this house screams “fast flip” rather than a cared-for vacation home. It feels like the owners rushed to make it rentable and skipped over the details that actually matter to guests. With the lack of safety, poor upkeep, and obvious shortcuts everywhere, I cannot recommend this property as it stands. It has potential, but until the owners invest real effort, it’s not worth the price.
Overall a great stay. Could use a good deep clean, particularly on the deck and front door. Steep stairs with sharp turns to get down to the water, so was difficult to carry anything large down to the lake (ie paddle board, kayak). Kitchen was well stocked with pretty much everything we needed and pots and pans were in good shape
Rented the home for 2 weeks for family vacation. View and trees were beautiful and conveniently close to a great boat launch. Size of home was good and kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. If bringing a boat other than a small fishing boat, please note the dock does need some work. There are some broken poles and it wasn’t installed level with some aluminum edges sticking out. Fortunately we had brought extra rope and had to use all 4 of our buoy’s to secure our boat each day. We gave a nice list to the new home owners for future improvements to improve the overall experience for future rentals!
