Very nice cabin in a great location. Plenty of room for several people.
Great house with an exceptional view of the lake. Walking distance to town. Our family had a great time. Thanks.
The location and privacy was really nice and looking over the lake was awesome. The house was clean and very comfortable. Definitely renting again.
Private and relaxing. The market was nice and within walking distance, as well as restaurants. We enjoyed the kayaking and canoeing. It was nice to have the chance to decompress and bond with our adult children and their significant others.
The location is perfect - walking/biking to downtown stores, restaurants, bars, entertainment. We're "silent sports" type - kayaking, canoeing, hiking, walking and biking, and this property is perfect for all of that, plus the grandkids had a blast swimming off the dock to the swim pad anchored off shore (we brought our own anchor for the swim pad.) This is our third annual August family gathering at this site and everyone from grandkids to Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed this location. I can't go Five Star because it could have been a little cleaner on our arrival - particularly the outside area - porches, entryways, grounds, the fire ring area and grill. There was no broom or rake on the premises ( I went to the local hardware store to buy a broom). The outside grill was REALLY in need of a good cleaning - I cleaned it before our first use, once during our 2 week stay, and once more before we left. Plenty of propane, but inadequate grill cleaning tools - so had to "make do" with what was available. Nonetheless, Vance Lake Retreat remains a great vacation site to which we would return. The positives well outweigh my few critical observations, and I offer them only in hopes that this beautiful site receives the TLC it so justly deserves.
We loved how comfortable this house was. Lots of toys for the grandkids and kayaks for the adults. Great location.
