My husband and I rented this studio. It is a very cute place, nicely decorated but it is smaller than it appears online. It would be better for 1 person. Pros: it is very cute. It’s walking in distance to the Ferry and Circuit Ave. The neighborhood is walkable. Cons: It has a cheap & sagging mattress. There is no closet & no place for hanging clothes other than a few hooks around the room. The dresser is only approx 8-10” deep so the 3 drawers won’t hold much. 2/3 of the dresser shelves are filled with boxes. The outdoor table & chair set is rusty so we didn’t utilize that. The place was stuffy so we had to keep the ceiling fan on. The A/C did not have a heating option but that was quickly resolved when a space heater was provided. FYI, the coffee pot does not use pods. Although towels were provided, there were only 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels, 4 bath towels. I would have preferred 4 washcloths & only 2 bath towels.
Location, amenities and price are perfect. This studio has all you need for a relaxing stay on the vineyard.
The space was quaint, and comfortable and great walking distance towards the center of Oak Bluffs. Would stay here again.
I simply cannot express enough how joyful my stay in the SANKOFA STUDIO was. The pictures shown on the site are accurate. The main room, kitchen and bathroom are absolutely, positively beautifully designed! The African theme throughout the studio - the furnishings, lighting, bathroom accessories, artwork, African sculptures, front door knocker (and front door key) are stunningly gorgeous and well thought out. Beautiful touches are throughout the studio. After staying in the SANKOFA STUDIO, I now want my own apartment to be redesigned by whomever designed the SANKOFA STUDIO. The studio is compact but very comfortable. I must say that I loved the beautiful shower area so very much that my showers lasted quite long (plus the soaps provided are wonderful). In addition, having a fabulous electronic toilet was way out of this world (I won’t spoil the surprise there). I was also very happy to find that a large beach umbrella, two beach chairs and two beach towels were provided. True class! The location is beyond perfect! It’s in East Chop which is beautiful, quiet, and a nice retreat after partying in Oak Bluffs. There’s a small, quiet public East Chop beach within walking distance, plus Ink Well Beach is within walking distance. There’s plenty of things good within walking distance. Some examples: the Oaks Bluff ferry, Oak Bluffs Marina boat slips, the Flying Horses carousel, hotels, restaurants, liquor stores, Circuit Avenue with variety of shops and restaurants, banks, Post Office, the town buses venturing to other MV towns, Union Chapel, Back Door Donuts, and last but not least - the police station - with the friendliest and most helpful police force I’ve ever witnessed.
I really loved that it was close to the main strip and restaurants in Oak Bluffs. The decor and amenities were modern and stylish. It even had a Bidet. I really enjoyed staying there.
Premium rates with KOA like amenities. Rock hard pillows, moisture coming up from the floor and oh yeah ask for extra towels and a candle because the place stinks.
