Overview
Come back year after year to this Dennis vacation rental on Cape Cod. With an outdoor shower, convenient, yet secluded location, and cozy vintage feel, this ranch home is the perfect place to share time off with your loved ones.
Just a short stroll away (about 400 yards) is beautiful Bayview Beach, offering many spots to relax in the sun or water. This house is about a mile and a half from the village of Dennis in which you'll find antique shops, eateries, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Cape Playhouse and Cinema, and the Dennis Public Market.
On your turn about town, grab a treat at the Ice Cream Smuggler or sit down for a formal meal at fine establishments such as the Red Pheasant, Scargo Café, Fin, and Pecorino Romano.
If you're looking to unwind in a serene atmosphere, this is the place. This quintessential New England vacation home has a cedar shingle exterior and a down-to-earth vibe. Inside, you'll feel at ease among the 1960s colonial furnishings, which have been maintained with care throughout the years. Braided rugs in organic shades of brown and cranberry and knotty pine cabinetry, vinyl flooring, and touches of nautical decor really make this escape stand out.
Enjoy privacy on the wrap-around porch surrounded by dense growth. Congregate for breakfast, al fresco lunches, cocktails, and barbecues while communing with local birds. After dark, you'll be in awe at the number of stars in the sky. Wash off the beach sand at the outdoor shower before you head back into the house for dinner.
Head into this single-level home through the sliding glass doors and find more than 1,100 square feet of comfort. In the living room, catch up on the weather forecast on the cable TV (upgrade coming soon) or connect your smart phone to the provided WiFi.
In the fully stocked galley-style kitchen, you'll have everything you need for those outdoor meals, including a dishwasher for easy clean up. The colonial-style dining table has two extra chairs if you have a full party of eight dining on your homemade creations.
After stargazing, retire to one of the three carpeted bedrooms. In the master you'll find a queen bed with an en-suite bathroom containing an upgraded shower. Two more bedrooms have two charming twin beds each for children or close friends. A new sofabed is available in the living room, allowing up to seven guests in this Cape Cod beach house. The second full bathroom features well-maintained retro brown fixtures.
In the basement, you'll have access to the washer and dryer, though a laundry line is provided by the side of the house to reduce your carbon footprint. Imagine hanging your favorite cardigan to dry in the sunshine and returning early evening to find it smelling like fresh air and happiness!
Beyond Dennis is a whole cape of activities! Venture two miles east to freshwater Scargo Lake for stand up paddling boarding. Rent bikes and pedal on trails throughout the area. Go whale watching at Barnstable eight miles west or in Provincetown (cut your travel time down by taking a ferry). Many ports throughout the cape, including Sesuit Harbor, offer fishing charters. You'll find experiences close by to make your vacation truly amazing.

This is a lovely home! Immaculate, well thought out and close to the beach. But…no handrails in the tubs/showers, steep front steps with no railings to hold on to makes this a really hard place for seniors.
All of the windows are new, or at least they appear to be. There are a ton of portable fans. The deck and the grill are a great addition. The place is quiet, private, clean, safe, and a stone’s throw from the beach. The TV is too small, and the Wi-Fi was not great. All of the TWIN beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of extra blankets and towels. The queen bed was super uncomfortable and had a loose headboard that banged against the wall every time you moved. There was plenty of parking. The house remained a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. Many of the furnishings are outdated, but it gave us something to laugh about. I would stay at this place again if the problems with the queen bed are fixed.
Rustic cottage that was clean, terrifically located and walking distance of a beautiful beach on the Bay Side. It was not air conditioned but fans in every room worked fine even on a very hot weekend.
Great location, had everything we needed!
This quaint cape cod house sits in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the beach. Very clean and spacious. We did visit during the week of NE's hottest in June. We did have an abundance of fans in all rooms but no A/C. As of note, this is a older furnished home and may not be of some people's liking. We felt it was very nostalgic and indicative of the cape. Enjoyed the deck in the evenings, cooking out and just enjoying a cocktail In the private setting. Thank you for a great experience.
The home was within walking distance to Dennis Beach. It was perfect for our family of four, with two little ones. We didn't have to worry about beach parking and could easily run back to the house when we needed something. Being this close to the beach and at such a reasonable price was a steal! We will be returning next year!
