Beautiful house. Great location. Very clean, well equipped and amazing view!! So comfortable we didn’t want to leave.
We’ve stayed at the Barnstable Harbor Home several times, and it’s always perfect. The view of the harbor is stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. The house is spotless, comfortable, and feels like a true home away from home. We love walking the flats at low tide and relaxing on the deck with the ocean breeze. The neighborhood is also great for a nice stroll and close to the Barnstable Market. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and one of our favorite places to vacation to. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
My sisters and I came out here in September. The house was decorated tastefully. The beds were very comfortable and shower products were provided in the showers . The kitchen was well stocked, but additional washcloths would have been nice. There needs to be a an additional table lamp near the sofa as well, that provides more light. Adding a fire pit outside would’ve been perfect for those cool nights. I would definitely stay here again.
Wow—another amazing stay at this Cape Cod waterside home! My parents loved the convenience of the first-floor bedroom, and Dad was thrilled to catch two striped bass right from the shore in front of the house. The neighborhood is peaceful and full of classic New England charm, with the kids having a blast riding bikes around the quiet streets. One of the highlights for our family was kayaking out to the sandbars—at low tide they transformed into our own “private” beaches, where the kids could run and explore. We rented kayaks for the week (delivered right to the house—so easy!) and loved exploring the safe harbor. Life jackets and paddles were provided with the rental, and beach towels and chairs were on hand too. Just remember to bring beach shoes! The house itself was spotless—truly one of the cleanest rentals we’ve ever had, and with everything in perfect working order (nothing for Dad to fix, which is a first!). We made the most of both decks, whether watching the sunrise, relaxing with evening sunsets, or simply gazing across the harbor toward the dunes and Sandy Neck. The location is ideal, with plenty within walking distance: morning coffee at Nirvana, breakfast at The Buttercup, dinner at The Dolphin, and the quaint Barnstable village with its country store for pizza, subs, and essentials. The house book provided gave a wealth of information. This home is the perfect blend of quiet, family-friendly comfort and authentic Cape Cod beauty. We can’t wait to return again!
This is my family's 2nd year renting this property (7th year in last 9 years visiting the Cape from the DC area) and we absolutely love it! It works so well for this multi generational family - matriarch (my mom ), my sister, myself and my teenage daughter. Lots of room to spread out and come back together. Kitchen is large and pretty well stocked for a rental and the grill also works well. There is no TV but that has not been a problem for us!! The view is phenomenal - especially at low tide! Highly recommend renting kayaks/paddle boards from Bass River Kayaks (https://www.capecodkayaking.com) - they deliver and pickup at the house (small fee but worth it!!). Food highlights this year - Crisp (Osterville), Leonessa (Yarmouth - need reservations, SO good!), Lighthouse Keepers Pantry (Yarmouth - delicious pastries, salads, etc), Pizza Shark (Dennis - grab pizza and watch the sunset at Mayflower beach!) and Buttercup Cafe (Barnstable). Other highlights - Wellfleet (always a favorite), Edward Gorey House, and shops in Osterville and Sandwich (also a favorite). Until next year!
My family and I had a wonderful week in Barnstable. The house is so clean and nicely decorated and the views of the sunset and sunrise from the water are amazing.
