Condo was clean and had everything I need for a brief trip to attend a conference at the Convention Center (next door). Clean and comfortable and relatively quiet. Check in was a bit confusing because they don't make it clear you have to go to a Vacasa office down the street to get your parking passes and code to get in the building. They send the code to get in the unit, but not the building code. Seems like they could just leave the passes in the unit, give you both codes, and save you a trip to a second location.
Clean and bright , fine for a couple or single person
Everything seemed to be okay until we got there. We were never given a building code, only a room code. They are not the same code, the building needed 4 digits and we only got a 10 digit code. it was inconvenient because we spent about 10 min trying to get through on the phone and then I finally was able to find a chat link. The person on chat was helpful but I had to explain twice that the building code is not the same as the code they sent us before he finally understood and got us the 4 digit code. There was a rule stating parking passes needed to be displayed and we didn't get one so we had to ask a nearby restaurant for pen and paper to hand write a parking pass so my car didn't get towed. When we finally got inside, the Shower was dirty, there was hair and garbage in the shower. Like the little foil covers you peel off a new bottle. I used the sponge and dish soap to clean it so we could shower. The queen size couch pullout had dirty sheets on it so I went to look for clean ones and found moldy sheets in the closet. The full size pullout had a clean fitted sheet but the top sheet was dirty. We slept the first night just on the fitted sheet with pillows because there was no one available since we got in late to bring clean sheets. The towels were dirty as well. Both towels had smears and spots on them and there was only 1 extra in the closet. We just ended up using our pool towels for our showers instead of for the pool. We were not brought clean towels. The queen size pullout is extremely uncomfortable. There is a bar that digs into you no matter how you lay because the mattress is thinner than cardboard. The full size was comfortable but if you're 5'6" or taller prepare to be hanging off the bed. The layout of the room guarantees you better be comfortable sharing a bed with someone because you can't open both at the same time. For what we spent we should have just booked a normal hotel and been able to get clean sheets and towels.
The makai is a perfect location … can get to a variety of venues within minutes either by car or walking … the condo is great for 2 people
