The home is within walking distance to Douglas Beach and a short drive to Oval Beach. Nice quiet area. We enjoyed seeing deer in the backyard.
Location was the only thing to love about this property. Air conditioner was broke! After reading reviews the air was broke during the previous guests stay and never got fixed! Took over 24 hours to get fixed! House was 86 degrees! Tried calling the manager over 10 times and they never answered or called me back! I asked the help line about some sort of a refund and they told me only the manager could approve that but of course I was never able to talk to the local manager! Shower drain was clogged with hair! Kitchen ceiling has water damage and mold! A couple broken things inside the home! Absolute terrible experience and I’ll never again in my life book anything that’s associated with Vacasa
The location is great. Beautiful woods, many deer came close to the house, saw a family of turkeys. The space is generous, nice to see a house that can sleep a lot of people also have space large enough to feed those people as well as have space for them to sit in a living room and outdoors. The photos hide the worn, datedness of the interior. Windows that don't open, torn screens, non-functional blinds, hard beds. BUT... all of this could be overlooked except the A/C was not working. 80 degree interior temp is too hot to sleep in. No fans. Vacasa was notified the first evening of our stay. We requested fans. They offered a 10% discount for our discomfort. Today, 6 days after that offer, I have yet to see that. And to be honest, that is not nearly enough.
The location to Douglas City Beach was a perfect little walk/quick drive away. The yard had all sorts of wildlife. The house has good space and lots of beds … but it is all probably in need of some love and repairs.
The house was great. Lots of bedrooms, big tv room, beautiful backyard and super close to the beach. Huge kitchen. Only a few things that could use some TLC- the washing machine was missing a part so a part of the machine would not stay in place. You could only do heavy loads to weigh the part down. I texted the local Vacasa person, but never got a response. There were lots of bugs in the attic room- almost like the housekeeper didn't clean thoroughly before we came. It wasn't a huge issue but my teens were a little squeamish. It's an attic space so it was not unexpected, but maybe just needed a more detailed vacuum upstairs. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time and would rent this house again!
Generations was a great place for our family to stay during a long weekend trip to Douglass/Saugatuck. It was a nice halfway point for folks from Chicago and Detroit. For 7 adults and 2 kids there was plenty of room for everyone. The best part was the large kitchen and dining area where everyone congregated. Very close to Oval Beach and downtown Saugatuck to spend the days and short half mile walk to Douglass beach to view the beautiful sunsets. The big deck with 2 patio tables, string lights, grill, and firepit all added to the wonderful experience.
