Guests appreciated the cozy atmosphere, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and the home being well equipped for cooking, showers, and everyday needs. The Summer House was frequently praised for being very clean and well appointed. Its location near Portage Lake was seen as convenient and peaceful, with easy access to the water and a quiet setting that made it ideal for a getaway. Guests especially loved the outstanding lakefront and beachfront views, along with the scenic backyard and natural surroundings. The fire pit, dock, supplied games, and large yard added to the enjoyment and made the property memorable for return visits.

The Summer House

Hidden away on Onekama's secluded Portage Point, The Summer House offers 50 feet of lake frontage and incredible views from a sheltered corner of Portage Lake. In this spot on a quiet street near North Point Park, you can spend your days swimming in the shallow bay and launching your kayaks and canoes from the dock. Grab a cup of coffee from the fully appointed kitchen and step outside onto the deck to watch the morning sunrise. Enjoy barbecue picnics in the backyard as you watch the kids fish from the dock, then settle down for the evening around the firepit for a few toasted marshmallows. Please note that this property does not have A/C. Things to know Two dogs are welcome for a nightly fee Please be aware that this home lies in a flood area and occasionally has standing water in the yard after heavy rainfall. The owners raised the waterfront portion of the yard and installed a dirt driveway in 2019 to make your stay more enjoyable, but rising water levels and storms that drop several inches of water at a time still leave large puddles in the roadside yard. Onekama Township recently created a Short Term Rental Ordinance; please respect this Ordinance so this home can continue to help your family make vacation memories.
