We loved the personal touches of available games, books and cat decor but the rest was very corporate. 1 towel and washcloth per person for the stay with very inpersonal communication. VACASA is not doing a good job cleaning some things.Coffee pot and tea kettle were filthy, shower head was half clogged. Mattress was terrible. Location was incredible and it was nice to be able to walk to Whiskers Bar and the coffee shop on the property. Great location to downtown Glen Arbor.
The home was perfect and cozy! It was very clean, quiet and private. We enjoyed the soak tub which was one of the reasons I booked this place! The location was perfect for us. We were able to enjoy hiking at Empire and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We had plenty of time to return to the home & get ready for dinner in Traverse City. The resort was clean and pleasant. When we arrived, there was live music from the restaurant which you can hear from the condo. The only minor issue we had was upon arrival, we got lost trying to find the condo. The directions to locate the condo when you arrive at the resort was in an email and all the way at the bottom. However I was able to text the staff and get assistance right away! Wound recommend to others & would return ourselves!
I loved that this place was clean and accommodated all of our needs. I love that it was close to the pool and the beach. It was one of my favorite stops as we toured UP Michigan and Glen Arbor.
Loved the area for biking, Lake Michigan Beach, Whiskers bar and grill and location to bike trails and Glen Arbor.
Lovely condo, ideally situated in a beautiful part of the world
We arrived shortly after check in to the condo to find the AC not on and the second-floor condo at a temperature of 81 degrees. While this was a bit inconsiderate considering there was a heat-watch and it was 90+ degrees outside, we figured we would turn the air on and all would be well. We could not, despite extensive efforts, figure out how to get the AC unit turned on. We reached out to Vacasa via phone and VRBO message for further assistance. We were met with vague suggestions that proved that no one actually had any idea how to help us (i.e. unplugging the ceiling mounted unit that is wired into the wall). We were told that a ticket has been created for the maintenance team to come out, and we would be called when they are on their way. We went out to dinner and after 2 hours with no contact from Vacasa or the maintenance team, we inquired about the progress of getting the AC fixed. We were told that the team already came and fixed the AC, despite us never being called. Upon returning back to the condo ~30mins after that message, we discovered a note on the counter that the AC had been fixed. However, the windows were still open, the temperature in the condo was now 83 degrees, and the AC was still off and not blowing air. We attempted again to try get the AC turned on and we were unsuccessful. We contacted Vacasa again to say that the issue had not been completely resolved, and asked if we would be able to speak directly to maintenance, or have them come back out so they could show us how they got it working. We were told this was not possible, and the best they could do was open another ticket. I asked to be called with an update as to when maintenance would be coming, and was assured I would be contacted. After 2 hours of waiting, we decided we were done sweating in the unbearable heat and left the condo to stay elsewhere. We messaged the Vacasa team, and still did not receive any communication until 2.5 hours after our message that we were leaving. Which means, despite being promised an update, the next communication from your team did not come until 4.5 hours later, which is unacceptable for a company who allegedly prides themselves on prompt communication. Not to mention, each and every time we reached out for help or updates, we spoke to a different person who seemingly did not have any prior knowledge of our situation. Re-explaining ourselves every time was incredibly frustrating. This entire experience could have been resolved with prompt and effective communication, and yet we were left to suffer in the unbearable heat on one of the hottest weekends where an "extreme heat advisory" was issued. If we were traveling with an elderly person, this lack of responsiveness and failure to rectify the situation could have caused a dangerous scenario. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. We will be sure to warn anyone against staying at one of Vacasa's properties ever again.
