You'll be an easy stroll from a variety of restaurants and grocery stores, and only a mile southeast of Wadsworth Cove and Backshore Beach - a beautiful, protected inlet with pebbly sands and gentle surf.

The property met our needs. The guest services folks were very responsive. If you want to be close to downtown Castine, this is the place to be. The location was the best. Very easy to walk to the grocery store local restaurants and the waterfront.

We enjoyed this nicely decorated unit lower floor unit. The location to everything in Castine could not be better. A few issues to be aware: 1) As mentioned in other reviews, the window coverings are minimal. If you want privacy or want to block out light, the half window sheers provide neither. 2) Both beds are very small. Although one is listed as a queen, they both appear to be double beds. 3) There is no insulation between the upper and lower units. We could hear every step above us. Other guests are not always there, but it can be bothersome. We still enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment.
