The house was in a great location right on the lake. Had plenty of room & Lots of games for kids to keep them occupied.
Waterfront, two floors for better family sharing and living, loved our old big dog could go with us, child friendly, gorgeous wood paneling, woodstoves also child friendly!! We also loved the distance for travel was just an hour away!!
The general location and easy access to the water was ideal for our needs on this trip.
Really cool house in a really nice spot but bedrooms and bathrooms could use some serious updating
Although a perfect location and size for a family vacation on the lake “Better Days” is an appropriate description for this rental. After driving down the gravel driveway through the wooded lot the home appears, surrounded by unkept landscaping and overgrown weeds and bushes that surely will attract bugs and snakes, making the house look abandoned. The Welcome mat by a front door looks to have seen years of wear and not Welcoming at all. The door creeks loudly open into a home that looks broom clean, but has a very weird unclean smell to it. We had to wipe the kitchen and bathroom down with lysol/bleach to freshen the place and try to remove the urine smell. The throw pillows on the couch are worn and beat down, some even with holes in them, making the furniture look old and dirty. The bed pillows are flat and cheap, not truly pillows, the pillow cases barely stay on. The shower curtain in the main bathroom was gross so we replaced with one from the Dollar General down the road ourselves. The shower curtain in the downstairs bathroom is too short for the shower stall so I’m sure will/has caused water damage to the wood floors. There are spiders and large webs in every corner of this house. The living room fan and wooden accent wall are covered in them. This house has obviously not had a true cleaning in some time even though the house is rented out weekly. The outside deck looks like it hasn’t been used or cleaned in years. With spider webs and debris and grease from the grill caked on the wood planks. Most of the deck lights are blown. The screened-in porch with outdoor rug is just plan dirty. The screens look like animals have climbed in and out through them. Watch your step as you climb down the stairs from the bottom deck to the ground heading towards the lake. There is a lot of washout under the last step so you could easily lose your balance, trip and fall due to the uneven ground and tree roots. The stairs leading down to the yard towards the lake are intact, but the handrail is very loose and likely to collapse upon weight so beware. There was a trashcan full of garbage left down by the fire pit and a trashcan filled with dog poop bags on the deck, no trash pick up was done prior to our arrival. Overall, the house gets a 2.5 out of 5 for location and size. This house has so much potential but has been neglected with its lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. So sad!
I wanted to update reviews because I packed most of my kitchen reading past reviews about lack of kitchen items, silverware, etc...This is not true anymore. Kitchen was well stocked. House was very clean. We had a great time. Only downside is lack of good lighting in kitchen and main living area. Vacasa was responsive when we had a plumbing issue. Water toys, fire pit, were all awesome. I agree with some other reviews about the game room not being too pleasant b/c of the smell. Even with the a/c on in game room for a day, the smell kept 8 young adults, age 18-21 out of there all week, That was unfortunate. Other than that we had a fantastic stay and I recommend this property!
