Sunset Splendor

The location and most of the available amenities of this place were great. We enjoyed multiple days on the water with easy transport to and from the house. However, the dock was insufficiently padded with bumpers, so we had to take out our boats each day. We also noticed dusty floors and chandeliers upon arrival, as well as missing amenities that would have made our stay better. Also, the room I personally stayed in had the noisiest and lumpiest bed i've ever slept in; it was a full-sized bed with a queen-sized mattress pad. When I needed help with an issue, Vacasa reps were unable to help me in a timely manner; I texted about it and was responded to after 24 hours, but the issue remained so I texted again and never heard back. I didn't appreciate being told that I would have an available representative, only to find that they couldn't be bothered to respond or resolve my issue. It was a decent trip, just missing some things we deemed important for this type of vacation.

My family and I have gone to lake Anna for about 8 years now. I have literally never left a poor review…until now. First what I liked, the design of the house was fine and the dock was fine. Great views. What I didn’t like - the house was dirty. There were not enough pots and pans, nothing fit together meaning there were no pots or pans with tops - I had to use a different pan to cover a pan in order to cook - those were the only two pans. Barely anything to cook with or store food in. The dishes in the drawer had filth on them and some of the plates had left over food on them (as well as one of the 2 spatulas.) We ran out of dishes pretty much right away and the kitchen is not very well stocked. My boys had dirty underwear and clothes left in their beds from previous renters. The tv’s did not work very well and the remotes in the batteries were dead. When we went to change them (on our own dime) the batteries were corroded with some sort of white dust. There was left over trash in odd places that we found after a couple days. The trash was not taken out either when we got there and we had no place to place our trash after the first day. Had to request trash be picked up multiple times as the bins are tiny. Tiny bugs infested the sliding door (inside the house) on day one. We were crazy about keeping the door shut. There were also bugs in the showers. Overall we will not be returning to this house. It appeared to not be cared for very well either just very basic basic things. A bit disappointing that we spent that much money to be in a dirty place where we had a hard time cooking.

This home is in a great location on the lake, everything was clean and well taken care of!! Highly recommend this home, we would definitely book it again!

Nice house, nice location, but prefer to work with private owners instead of management companies.

Loved the house, loved the lake, loved the deck, loved the sunsets on the dock, loved temperature of the lake. It was a great week. Owner has made some great updates to the house - a few more updates and it would be perfect. Didn’t get to use the fire pit, but it was something we’d hope to use in the future. Location is very close to grocery store and restaurants (there aren’t many in the area). Would definitely recommend this house.

But bring your own entertainment if you enjoy anything aside from books and dvds. We enjoyed fishing, paddling and kayaking. The kitchen sink was annoying to deal with. If there was a garbage disposal we didn’t see it. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.
