Heron's Watch

This is a beautiful family home that’s generally well cared for and stocked. Everything you need in the kitchen, lots of puzzles and games, a working turntable and vinyls, cozy gas fireplaces and outdoor fire pit. One note: there is not a TV if the main living area (one in master suite and one in basement). On the downside, we stayed in the winter and only looked for places with hot tubs. Unfortunately when we arrived, the hot tub was not only not working but did not have water, suggesting that the management team knew in advance that it was broken and did not notify or communicate with us. We reached out to Vacasa immediately and it took much back and forth to push for any refund. They would not consider relocating us to a house with a hot tub. This would have been 5 stars under different management.

We had a great time in this lovely house over a long weekend. The bedrooms worked well for us. The kitchen was well equipped, the spaces were comfortable. We used the kayak and canoe, the ping pong table and foos ball, and we made a couple puzzles on the puzzle table. We laughed a lot. The person on duty answered the phone and answered questions. That was nice. The house felt cluttered with all kinds of nice things mixed in with disorganized or broken things. There was no needle on the turntable. We couldn't get the CD player going. We think it was broken. The floor lamp in the master bedroom was broken and we brought in one of our own, The kitchen is an organizational mess. It would be nice to have a little space for the things we brought in.

We had a “friends weekend” with two of our dear friends and their kids and the place was perfect for everyone. The kids read through all of the books available, had a ton of fun with the toy closet and were constantly begging to get in the water. The adults particularly enjoyed dinner and quiet time out on the screened in porch. Highly recommend.

Heron's Watch is a perfect place for a big group to enjoy Lake Anna. The house has everything you could possibly need, including crib and changing table for the little ones (though we didn't need those), and a basket of dog toys for your pup! The kitchen is outfitted with every appliance and cooking utensil you could possibly need and our teenagers had a blast with the foosball and ping pong tables in the game room. There are even TONS of puzzles provided for us vacation puzzlers. The dock is great for fishing, relaxing, kayaking (3 kayaks provided) and a slide! And the screened in porch is perfect for relaxing or dining. We also loved the hot tub after a long day of tubing and wakeboarding. The house is very clean and everything in great working order. The house is located in the no-wake zone of a quiet cove so it's safe to swim right off the dock and the area is very peaceful. Our entire group agreed that Heron's Watch made our vacation easy and relaxing. Communication with Vacasa was also very easy during out stay. There were a couple times we just had quick questions and the Vacasa staff got back to us immediately by text with answers. We would definitely go back to Heron's Watch!

The place needs a lot of TLC. If the homeowners knew exactly how this place is being managed, they would, or I'd hope, would be very upset.

My family loved our time at Heron's Watch - it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. The private dock was fantastic and gave us easy access to the lake, and the outdoor spaces and screened in porch were beautiful! The listing was very much as advertised and the pictures online are accurate. There were lots of thoughtful touches and the house has lots of games and fun things to do. The waterslide into the lake was a huge hit with our kids, and we all enjoyed having access to the kayaks. We brought our own paddleboards and tubes, which were also really nice to have, and we brought fishing rods and enjoyed catch and release off the dock. We would highly recommend this listing and would definitely return!
