Straight to the Point

I would happily return, especially in the summer for more water activities . However we enjoyed our thanksgiving kayaking, bonfire, stargazing and grilling . Wonderful space for multi family multi generational celebrations .

We loved the house, the spacious room for all of our extended clan, the lake and dock which are incredible, and the grounds that has so much available to occupy our kids and grandkids. Appreciate that the house was well stocked with the basics, and the kitchen had most everything we needed. An excellent experience all around!!

The outdoors had so much for the kids to do. Being in a no wake zone it was very easy to paddleboard and kayak. They had so much fun fishing and in shallow water they could see the fish bite their hook. Great for kids who love the outdoors.

We had a wonderful one-week vacation at Straight to the Point (STTP) in July 2025 - the house was better stocked than any vacation property we have ever rented. STTP's cabinets and closets were brimming with paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, Ziploc bags, batteries and more. It was truly impressive. The kitchen was also well stocked with many plates, glasses, mugs, cooking utensils of every variety, pots and pans. We were happy to see two full refrigerators for our use. The large and sturdy dining room table was just perfect; we enjoyed sitting there for every meal. The house boasts 3 separate heating and cooling zones which was again the best we have ever had. We prefer a cool house and the A/C systems didn't miss a beat in keeping us cool and comfortable. One of the other best features which we didn't figure out until mid-week, was the stargazing ability from every outside deck/patio area. The one off of the primary bedroom, in particular, was fantastic. The large windows that looked out on the property and the lake were also spectacular and the billiards table a fun twist. There were many TVs in the house which ensured there were no conflicts over screen time. A super important yet easy-to-miss amenity was STTP's water softening system; many similarly isolated vacation homes operating on well water deliver tap water smelling like sulphur - STTP's water was soft, benign and actually tasty. This is a very large property with many seating areas and recreational options. The boathouse was a nice place to lounge in the afternoon where you could stay in the shade. The beach area closest to the boat house was also wonderful. Several well-placed trees shaded the sandy beach, which on a hot day was a real plus. The quality of the sand was also fantastic for kids; it felt and looked new and clean. The two other beach areas were a far walk and not as well maintained. There were also many kayaks of all sizes and paddleboards. The outdoor seating areas closer to the house were plentiful and fairly nice, but would have benefitted from some waterproof covers on all of the pieces not just the two we found upon our arrival. We looked forward to having the grandkids use the playground equipment, but there was a wasp nest in one area and after one child got stung, we stayed away from it. While we recognize there is not much the host can do about it, the amount of Canadian geese excrement on the long property made walking the property unpleasant.  While not an issue at all for the children in our party, Lake Anna's "warm side" water temperature was warmer than anticipated and not super refreshing (although it might be great in the wintertime!).

Great setup for an extended family. Property had all the amenities you could be looking for with a vacation on the lake. Kitchen was well stocked with all necessary items for meal preparation and eating. Many common sitting areas outside provided ample space for everyone to hangout. Would definitely rent again.
