Modest Peaceful lake house with beautiful lake views. Location right on private warm side of lake with dock for fishing or watercraft. Pros: Beautiful View, Right on lake with Dock. Large Deck on back of house with Amazing lake view. Home was clean and tidy upon arrival. Numerous beds with clean sheets & light quilt plus towels provided. Nice fire pit surround by blue Adirondack chairs near lake edge . Plus a full size washer & dryer. Cons: Tiny Kitchen area with hodgepodge of items. Very limited dishes and hard to prepare a simple meal. No dishwasher or oven. Bathrooms, some furniture & tv’s were dated. Overall Amazing View, Tidy modest home, clean linens & towels. Bonus right on the warm size of lake near discharge & view is fabulous. Home was nice but some furniture & tv’s were dated, as was bathrooms & kitchen. Overall the view & location made this area a pleasant stay on the warm side of Lake Anna
Love the location. Wish the dock had power. Will be back.
Great little spot. It's small, cooking can be tough with limited space, but we managed. The grill is big and newer so we did several meals out there also the 4 adults and 4 kids sat around the outdoor table for most meals which was great. The private side of the lake is very warm in August to no fault of the home owner, but be advised, it's not refreshing to get in. We still had fun in the lake, but we're unable to really stay down there too long due to the temperature. Lots of fun stuff for the kids, they enjoyed the arcade and the numerous toys and games on the property.
The listing doesn't make it clear but the house is on the "hot" side of the lake aka the private side. And the water it significantly warmer than on the cooler side aka the public side. There are a lot of geese as well so the water near the house is covered in geese poop. Not a lot of fun to paddle board in. I was told my LKA Watersports that commercial watercraft (rentals) are not allowed on the private side and that anyone who says they can be over there is lying to us. I emailed Vacasa twice before renting to confirm that we could rent where this house was they assured us both times it was not a problem. The AC also went out for 2 full days. Waiting to see if Vacasa will do right, and refund us those nights/days. All in all, pretty frustrating. We did rent a pontoon for two days on the cool side and had a nice time doing that. The house was adequate once the AC was working.
A geoup of college girlfriends enjoyed our stay here and appreciate all the amenities available with the fire pit, floats, kayaks/paddleboards. Since it was so hot the lake water was too warm to enjoy but we paddled and found Christopher Run Campground near by on the cool side of the lake with a day pass to enjoy swimming! Really liked the games and puzzles provided as well! House had everything we needed, as described in listing!
The house could use some updates, and the cleaning crew could be more thorough but we had a blast! The kids loved swimming, kayaking, fishing, and all the lake activities!
