Overview
Nestled in the woods on the private side of Lake Anna you’ll find this family-friendly home on hundreds of feet of natural shoreline offering views, tranquility, wildlife, and relaxation tucked between two quiet coves. Far removed from most boat traffic, this quiet spot allows for tranquil and safe family boating, kayaking, and fishing. And, thanks to its ideal location on the last peninsula toward the opening of the lake and warmer water temperates, the summer season is extended slightly - so pack an extra swimsuit. When it’s time to explore, Lake Anna State Park is around 16 miles away and all the shopping, restaurants, and amenities of Bumpass are around five miles away.
At home, enjoy morning coffee and evening cocktails on the large, wraparound deck and an afternoon snooze in the waterfront hammock. With your private dock and boat launch, you can spend the day on the water in one of the provided kayaks or canoes, or launch your own boat (up to 30 feet depending on water level) right from the driveway. The recently renovated waterfront gazebo features a fun bar-top area and comfortable family gathering spaces to make memories while enjoying the lake breeze.
Inside, you'll find an airy, open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning lake views. Don your chef’s hat and step into the full, custom-built kitchen to whip up family favorite recipes, then serve up your creations at the breakfast bar, adjoining dining table, or alfresco on the deck. After a day on the lake, multiple gathering spots inside create cozy spaces to gather with loved ones. Watch the latest programs via the free DirecTV on the new 70-inch TV upstairs, pop a movie into the DVD player, or play a friendly game of pool or cards in the living room downstairs. A variety of kid’s games, toys, and books will keep the littlest members of your party happy.
The night ends in any of four well-appointed bedrooms, each featuring a waterfront view and the primary suite featuring a private bath. But before calling it a night, grab your favorite beverage and gather around the firepit at the water's edge while listening to the sounds of nature as the sun dips below the horizon. The lake life you crave awaits - all that’s left to do is book.

Everything was great, from the awesome dock to all of the toys and games for the toddlers! Fantastic view of the lane and sunrise! We'll be back.
Sitting on decks seen deer in yard . We were blessed with good weather too.
Met the needs of our family with beautiful grounds and lake access. Played and swam all day, everything we needed. Really appreciated the canoe and kayaks!
No access to the main lake via water.
Sawmill Cove was a fantastic experience, even in late December. There was plenty of activities, the property was well kept with plenty of amenities, and the bonfire pit in the backyard was incredible to reconnect with family. There was ample space in the home for our party of 6, as well as a great basement with a pool table. The main floor had the best view from the windows, and the best old school recliner. Strongly recommend.
Plenty of beds so our party of seven slept comfortably. Not sure if the water was safe so we didn't jump in. Water quality needs to be made clear to guests.
