Overview

Experience Smith Mountain Lake in Cabin on the Cove, a gorgeous dog-friendly log home located on a five-acre wooded lot providing privacy, yet also convenient to restaurants, marinas, and shopping. This spacious and well-appointed home has plenty of room for a large family and offers a true lake atmosphere with wood beams and expansive windows for wonderful lake views.

The main level offers a well-equipped kitchen, a great room, a primary suite with a private balcony, and two guest bedrooms that share a bath. The lower level provides another primary suite, a guest suite, a family room, a game area, and a wet bar. The loft area has extra sleeping space as well.

The huge 2,200-square-foot dock gives you plenty of room to tie up your boats or personal watercraft, fish, sunbathe, or just enjoy the view. Swimming and floating is ideal in this wide water cove.

Also, this home offers plenty of opportunities to keep everyone entertained with seven TVs, shuffleboard, foosball, air hockey, electronic darts, Xbox (bring your own games), and a canoe.

For those who prefer a more laidback vacation, there is a hammock on the deck to enjoy the summer breeze, a covered porch for shade, and a lower patio for grilling (gas grill and flat-top gas grill available).

We had a wonderful time in this great cabin. It met all of our needs. We cooked a perfect Thanksgiving meal, enjoyed the views, and the fire. Would definitely come again!

Great layout for 12 family members (ages 8 years to 65 years). The layout offered everyone privacy while also great gathering spaces. Kids (young and old) LOVED the MANY games, ping pong table and strong wi-fi for our Nintendo enthusiasts were all available in the basement. Dock space was AWESOME! Weather permitted lots of fishing and even some swimming. The backyard does have a very sharp drop to the water. The sidewalk and stairs can be extremely slippery with morning dew and rain. Just be cautious traversing up and down the hillside. Have already recommended this location to friends!! Thank you for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for the wonderful dock space to enjoy the Lake. The house is well stocked and has lots of spaces for families to gather together or have space for separate activities. The dock was a main draw for us and it was well enjoyed. Having the use of the paddleboards was wonderful. We rented 2 Seadoos and found there is plenty of space to tie them up and ease to access from the 2 floating docks. The location of the property was very convenient. Being on a short small cove off of a larger cove gave beautiful lake views while not having to be on the main channel. It is close to marinas yet private enough to paddleboard with ease. The dock size was wonderful to enjoy the day gathering and having multiple seating areas was great. The furnishings were well maintained and comfortable. We would definitely return.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. There was lots of space for our group and we appreciated that almost all bedrooms had their own bathroom. Kitchen was well stocked and everything was very clean upon our arrival. The dock was a great place to enjoy the outdoors and the lake activities. We booked a fishing charter with Captain Tony of Reel Rock Charters and cooked our catch that evening. The location is very convenient to stores and shops in the area. Would definitely come again!

We had a wonderful time at this house. The dock was great, the location to a marina for gas for the boat is very close as well as a convenient location to groceries. The house is comfortable with lots of games and movies. We have been coming to SML for about 30 years now and this house rates in our top 5! We did have a couple of issues but they were addressed very quickly and did not inconvenience us in any way.
