The view and privacy.
We love the fenced in back yard. Deck was large with two ladders perfect for getting in and out of water. Amenities were excellent. Private setting.
This older house is shaded all day, which is nice in the hot summer. The fenced yard for the dogs was the dealbreaker in choosing this home and was really convenient. Lots of space inside and on the deck for large groups of people to eat together. Very quiet within the house from room to room. I'd give this home a 3.75 if I could
Our family enjoyed a fantastic long weekend on the lake at Heron’s Rest! From Thursday to Monday, we made the most of our time together with good meals, boat rides, fishing, games and swimming. The house is in a great location and right up the road from a convenience store. There’s also an Italian place right there that we got takeout from one night. We rented a Tritoon boat for three days from Bridgewater Marina and were able to pick up/drop off right there at the State Park, which was close to the house. The Portside is a must hit spot with the boat! I liked the fact that the house was on a little cove with no one directly next to us. It was private and quiet. We fished from the pier and floated around during the day. Our chocolate lab enjoyed swimming in the lake, and it was really nice to have the fenced in yard to give him a break from the water. Overall, the place is very nice and clean. My only criticisms for the property were that 1) the lights on the pier did not work at all on the first night, which was a huge safety issue. I called Vacasa and someone came out the next day to repair the electric, 2) the steps coming up to the pier from the water are very slippery, 3) the hot tub jets do not work at all. I think an upgrade should be made on the tub, 4) the master bedroom had a musty and damp feel to it. I give Heron’s Rest a 9 out of 10 and would go back there again. Hopefully some of the things above can be fixed for future guests. We did have a great time!
We really enjoyed our stay at Herons Rest! The fenced yard was amazing with the dogs. The view was gorgeous. Beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was probably one of the best stocked for kitchenware of any house we’ve stayed. Griddle for pancakes, lots of cooking sheets, skillets & other items. Very convenient drive to Moneta for restaurants and fun activities. We rented a boat from Bridgewater Marina. Great experience! We also loved the food at Alessandra’s - a 5 minute drive from the house.
