After a cold and windy start to our trip, we had fun and really enjoyed Key West. Fishing was great and the NP at Dry Tortugas was terrific. The sunsets were fantastic.
We got in to this property after the local office closed and found a long list of issues. A dishwasher full of rancid dirty water. A leak under the kitchen sink. Walls and furniture scraped to bare wood/drywall. A toilet that was slow to fill and ran on its own. Sticky/dirty spot on the kitchen tile floors. I texted Vacasa and got a reply text and call from an on call regional manager. Even though I described all of the issues, he focused on the lean and said someone would fix it in the morning. I called the local office when it opened and again went through the whole list with the office staff. The said the manager would look and get back to us. We never heard a word from them. I did get a call from the regional manager who asked if things were fixed and said he would follow up with the local manager. When we returned to the unit at 2:30 it looked like someone had worked on the sink but nothing else was addressed (including the disgusting dishwasher.) When I texted the regional manager again he said the local manager had checked us out, so we left 3 days early. Based on this experience, Vacasa can not be trusted with any major vacation purchase.
It was in a quiet neiborhood. We had our privacy, close to downtown.
The place was clean and nicely decorated. Conveniently located at the northern end of the island. Would stay there again if visiting Key West.
We liked this place, just enough room for the three of us. We weren't there much, except to relax and get ready for next adventure. Pool and hot tub were awesome! Very close to airport so lots of plane noise but that did not bother or annoy us. We used uber a LOT, so if you are going to Duval Street and that surrounding area quite a bit, then maybe consider paying a little more to be closer and spend less on ubers.
Gar nichts! Absolut schlecht!
