Rating
Great location. A bit challenging with all the stairs to navigate through getting to the condo, but we enjoyed our stay.
The location is wonderful. We went for the Fourth of July and it was perfect for all the activities. We wish the listing was more clear about the amount of stairs. It is on the second floor but the setup requires a flew flights of stairs. We had read the reviews prior to going and so we brought a few extra fans which we did use in the summer months (they did provide a fan in each room). We are not bougie people and it was perfect and quaint. We found the mis-matched glasses and mugs to be in alignment with renting a cabin. It does have that rustic cabin feel to it. I felt like it was very appropriate with the price.
I really am disappointed that I was not told that this unit was part of an open air complex that had multiple steep steps without adequate railing that were safe inside and outside the building, and going through sets of doors with luggage, that ended up staying in the car, because I could not carry them without fears of risks of falling. I am a Senior with degenerative disc disease and severe osteoporosis with high risk of fracture and this on the stairs was not conveyed. There was debris from leaves and dirt everywhere as it is an open complex to each entry with trees in the middle. And if it rains or snows, you will get it blown into your entry way. It is a dark entry as well and when inside the door, it does not look like the picture that is shown. That has multiple lights and filters used. It is dark. It is not light. There are no rugs. The layout is not like what is shown. The stove burners and liners underneath were filthy caked with old grease. There were small fans in the rooms, and the bed in the second bedroom had a white comforter and looks like it’s severely dented from overuse. The main bedroom needs a light blocking blind as there are Christmas lights that are woven into the railings outside that keep light coming into the bedroom all night. It is warm during the day and night with no AC only a small fan pointed at the bed. The floors were gritty and sandy. There was not adequate lighting in this place, and with paying extra for housekeeping you are required to take your trash to a dumpster I did finally find, but it was locked, so I drove until I found one and deposited it when I left Angel Fire. I would have cancelled if I had of known all of this and especially all of the stairs you will have to navigate. The unit next to this one had the screen off of its window when I arrived. I really wish there was a refund for this unit, and unless you are here with good knees and hips and arms to carry everything, it may not be the best for you. I have lots of pictures of the stairs and a video of the walk to get to the car that I thought I was going to just get out of and walk into my condo. This is not what was conveyed. I had just buried my Father, and drove 7 hours and was not prepared to arrive to these conditions.
Great location!
The good - This is a good location and a good sized space for the price. Beds were comfortable. Didnt use the pull out sofa. The bad - The house is dated, the kitchen pots, pans, glasses, silverware are not clean and mismatched. There wasn't one usable pan or cookie sheet to even cook a simple breakfast. They were old, destroyed, and dirty. Went to buy new ones because the ones there were destroyed and nasty. The switch for the light in the living/dining room doesnt work so the light has to be on for the fan to be on. There was a light bulb missing. The floors heats in the kitchen, dining and living are on all the time. No way to turn them off. We had to keep a window open even as it was snowing to stay normal temp. Also you have to take out the trash, but it required a 5 min drive to the city dumpsters or they charge you an extra $10.
