Toilets were full of feces when we arrived at about 6pm. The odor in the place was horrible. There was no water to the home clearly for some time based on the amount in the toilets. Dishes were in the sink and beds were not changed. This was after receiving a message that the place was ready for free early check-in. At about 9pm after multiple calls to the VACASA main line who just said they would get back to us shortly (which they didn't). We moved all the kids and grandma to hotel rooms. Last thing we wanted after a 12 hour drive. The next day I purchased cleaning supplies and went back to try to repair the water myself due to no response. I found the inverter to the well outside was broken and could not be reset. Vacasa has known about this issue since 2023 based on reviews and has done nothing about it. They choose to rent to us in this condition. They did contact me the following day and offered a place 1 hour and 15 min away. I took it vs. having to drive home and completely ruin our vacation. We planned on skiing Taos every day and the 2hr 30 min total commute though the mountains was taxing for multiple vehicles, kids and grandma. This is not the vacation we booked. We ended up not skiing 1 day and also leaving a day early. Vacasa did refund the hotel and $50 less than 1 nights stay. The local manager will not return calls after multiple attempts, I submitted a ticket to request Vacasa give a full refund.

This is a very charming property and it is highly equipped. The views getting there are absolutely lovely and the area where its located is no as packed as other places. The only thing I would have to say, which wasn't really a problem for us but we ended up getting used to it, is that there is a certain smell maybe from the tubing system of the house. Other than this, it was a very comfortable stay.

Beautiful house with great view ,just stinks

We enjoyed this quiet and comfortable home with beautiful Mountain View’s in a remote location near Taos Ski Valley. However, the problems with running water that ranged from no running water to low pressure running water took away from our environment at this property. We had to trouble shoot the water pump inside the house and the outside one by the solar panels that nobody mentioned to us. We spent countless time in the phone with the local team trying to solve the problem that didn’t bring any resolution. In addition, the sewage smell that was the strongest in the laundry room and kitchen area wasn’t resolved either.

Pros: The house is up in the mountains with an epic view. We came here for a family reunion and it was perfect for our group. Higher end amenities and supplies Cons: The laundry room & bathrooms smelled like sewage occasionally. Artificial fragrances were used to cover up smell so be forewarned if you are sensitive to fragrances. I specifically requested no fragrances so I had to remove and air out the house for several days. The washer / dryer was broken for our whole stay. No extra towels and bedding either. I contacted guest services but they are not local. They filed a ticket but I did not hear back from anyone for our whole stay. So don’t expect any help if there are any issues.
