A 4WD or AWD vehicle and tire chains are required year-round, as the driveway is difficult when there is snow or mud.

The cabin has a wood-burning stove. An exterior noise-monitoring device is in use to help ensure quiet enjoyment for neighbors; it monitors decibel levels only and does not record audio.
