The house was assembled by a Santa Fe publisher, and it shows. Hand-plastered walls, exposed vigas and latillas, saltillo tile, several hundred books on built-in shelves, and original work by New Mexico artists in nearly every room. The signature space is the dining room, a sunroom wrapped in windows on three sides with saffron plaster walls, a flagstone floor, and a skylight overhead. Mature cottonwoods filter the light all day, and a garden door opens straight onto the shaded back patio. The living room sits under a long skylight with a wall of bookshelves and a breakfast bar that opens into the galley kitchen. Outside, a latilla coyote fence encloses a deep, tree-shaded backyard with a patio table for six. It stays cool and quiet through the hottest part of a Santa Fe afternoon. Dogs are welcome, and the primary bedroom opens onto the garden through its own French doors. Bedroom 3 suits kids or extra guests, with a bunk set holding a full bed below and a twin above, plus clip-on reading lights. Bathrooms Two full bathrooms serve the house. One is a classic Santa Fe bath with a tub and shower combination, built-in plaster niches, and a punched-tin mirror, and it also holds the private washer and dryer. The other has been remodeled with a glass walk-in shower behind a hand-glazed hexagon tile wall and a quartz-topped vanity. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and fresh towels are provided. Living Areas The living room runs beneath a long skylight, with terracotta tile, deep seating, a TV, and built-in shelves holding several hundred books. A traditional corner kiva adds the architectural detail the house is known for, though it is decorative and not available for guest use. A bar with two stools opens to the kitchen, and a quiet reading nook sits off the hallway with a tall bookcase and a leather lounge chair. Kitchen and Dining The galley kitchen has butcher block and tile counters, a stainless gas range, a dishwasher, a full-size refrigerator, and a pass-through window into the dining room. Coffee maker, kettle, toaster, microwave, cookware, dishes, and wine glasses are all on hand. The dining room seats seven at a pine farm table, and the garden door leads straight out to the patio when you would rather eat outside. Outdoor Space The backyard is the reason to book this house in summer. A latilla coyote fence wraps a deep lot shaded by mature cottonwoods, with a patio dining table and six chairs on flagstone and brick. It is a comfortable, enclosed spot to read through the afternoon or to let a dog stretch out while dinner comes together inside. Surrounding Areas Casa Oeste is in the Guadalupe and Railyard district, one of the most walkable parts of Santa Fe. Guests will have full access to the entire home, the patio, and the enclosed backyard. Self check-in is available through a smart lock, making arrival simple and flexible. Your entry code is sent before arrival. Parking is available in the open driveway for one vehicle, with street parking nearby for a second. A second car fits in the driveway if the first pulls farther up. A private washer and dryer are available throughout your stay.

Casa Oeste sits on a quiet residential lane in the Guadalupe and Railyard district, west of the Santa Fe River and just north of the Railyard itself. It is a neighborhood of low adobe walls, mature cottonwoods, and old Santa Fe houses, with coffee, groceries, and restaurants along Guadalupe Street a few minutes on foot. The Saturday farmers market, SITE Santa Fe, and the Railyard galleries are about a 10 minute walk south, and the Plaza is roughly 15 minutes east.

A car is useful for day trips to Taos, Abiquiu, and Bandelier, but you will not need one for most of a Santa Fe visit. The Railyard, the Guadalupe Street restaurants, and the Plaza are all walkable from the front door. The Santa Fe Depot is about a 10 minute walk and connects to the Rail Runner Express for service toward Albuquerque. Rideshare is readily available in town. Santa Fe Regional Airport is about 15 minutes by car, and Albuquerque International Sunport is about an hour.
