There's also a shared pool for staying cool on warm days. The living/dining room is spacious and comfortable with a gas fireplace and this home has a well-equipped kitchen. There are lots of windows and window seats throughout, so curl up with your favorite book or gaze at the view. If you want to see that special TV program or DVD you've been waiting for, there are TVs in both the living room and master bedroom served by Dish Network Satellite. Up to four guests can stay here comfortably in two bedrooms. You'll find a hot tub on the deck in a fenced courtyard so you can melt the cares away while luxuriating. The Sea Ranch is a one-of-a-kind coastal community on the Sonoma Coast, where miles of trails wind through meadows, forests, and along ocean bluffs. Nearby highlights include community heated pool (North) (7-minute walk), Shell Beach tidepools (7-minute drive), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (7-minute drive). Between the coastal trails, tidepools, heated pools, and The Sea Ranch Lodge's restaurant, you could fill a week without leaving the community. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.

Sea Ranch is located on the Sonoma Coast, approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1. The closest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area. The scenic drive along Highway 1 is part of the experience.

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times. Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast. December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon. Cell service can be spotty along the coast.
