Rating
Our stay at this property was deeply disappointing and raised serious concerns about cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest safety. Upon arrival, it was immediately obvious that the home had not been properly cleaned. There were visible finger marks and even lip marks on several windows. The hot tub, outdoor areas, and barbecue were covered in a filthy layer of dirt, and walking outside resulted in black and brown dirt being tracked into the house constantly. This level of grime clearly reflects a lack of attention to basic cleanliness. The most serious issue occurred on the third night of our stay, when we discovered a bat inside the bedroom where our 11 year old daughter had been sleeping for three nights. We later found another vent cover in the bathroom attached to her room left open, which may have been how it entered. It took us nearly two hours to get the bat out of the house an extremely stressful and frightening situation for our daughter and our entire family. Despite providing medical documentation and proof of the exposure, we had to seek additional medical treatment upon returning home, and our daughter and us had to undergo a painful vaccination process as recommended by our doctor. Inside the home, the beds and towels did appear clean, but the third bedroom should not be advertised as a legitimate addition to the property. It was uncomfortable, had strong odors, and felt generally unsuitable for guests. Property management was aware that a bird had built a nest inside the third bedroom’s bathroom vent due to a missing vent cover—something that indicates ongoing neglect. We were not warned ahead of time that the nest existed or that it could not legally be removed. This created significant discomfort for the person staying in that room, as the birds tapped on the vent morning and night and appeared could break the vent at any time. There were also serious maintenance issues throughout the home. The fireplace in one of the bedrooms was broken, and there was visible water damage in multiple areas of the property—further evidence that this house is not being properly cared for or inspected before guest stays. The property management team demonstrated a complete disregard for renter safety and wellbeing throughout the entire situation. The home is clearly not maintained, and the conditions we experienced resulted in real health impacts. After sharing everything with them, their response was dismissive, and they offered only $100 in compensation for the distress, medical concerns, and lack of a safe, comfortable stay. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this property. The owner should seriously reconsider their choice of property management, as the current team has shown an unacceptable level of neglect and indifference toward guests.
The local crew was very professional and helpful. This home is spacious and has a great layout. It clearly is well used but the cleaning crew does a good job of keeping it clean. We have stayed in many bluff homes in Sea Ranch and none of them can compete with the view from the upstairs bedroom. It is truly spectacular. The furniture is very comfortable. A larger TV would be nice. The kitchen is well stocked. Some things definitely need attention and I hope the owners will continue to make some upgrades so that the home functions as well as it deserves. All in all it is a very comfortable home with a fantastic location.
The property was closer to the SeaRanch cliffs, trails and house was more expansive than anticipated - all good! We saw spectacular sunsets, loved the trail walking. I liked the convenience of shorter distance from Gualala for supplies, rec center. SeaRanch is my happy place and I always enjoy the stay no matter what the weather. The residence helped with relaxing, quality time with family, etc. It was wonderful. Thank you.
The house was well furnished and clean. View was awesome. We will be back!
The views are spectacular. We wish more bedrooms actually had the view as well as the primary. :) The only reason we give 4/5 is because some items were outdated. The knives are hardly functional—- cheap and dull — and there wasn’t even olive oil in the cupboard. One of the window blinds broke when we were there — just past its prime. Overall, it was a really good.
Beautiful large home with amenities galore. Location is awesome.
