Just in front of you as you enter are glass doors that lead outside to the deck - a private spot to bring your coffee each morning. Back inside, you'll find a light-filled great room that brings together the living room, the dining room, and the kitchen beneath lofty ceilings with exposed wood beams. A private washer/dryer is also on hand for your convenience. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Retire to the bedroom and sink into the comfortable queen bed after a day of exploring. The Sea Ranch is a one-of-a-kind coastal community on the Sonoma Coast, where miles of trails wind through meadows, forests, and along ocean bluffs. Nearby highlights include community heated pool (North) (7-minute walk), Shell Beach tidepools (7-minute drive), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (7-minute drive). Between the coastal trails, tidepools, heated pools, and The Sea Ranch Lodge's restaurant, you could fill a week without leaving the community. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.
Plan for a 2.5-hour drive from San Francisco (Highway 101 to Highway 1). If flying, Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) is the closest option at about 90 minutes east. You'll want a car here -- the winding coastal roads are half the adventure.
Enjoy stainless steel appliances in the open kitchen, a Netflix-equipped flatscreen TV in the living room, and two desk workspaces - one in the living room and one in the bedroom - in case you need to use the free WiFi to catch up on emails. Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times. Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast. Spring (April-June) brings a wildflower show across the coastal meadows -- lupine, poppies, and iris paint the landscape. Summer (June-September) brings the warmest days and longest light. Morning fog is common along the coast -- it usually burns off by midday.

It was perfect for a winter week away for two. The heat warmed the place much faster than we anticipated, and cozying in watching TV by the fire was so nice. We brought our own HDMI cord, and would recommend if you plan to stream (we're dense, we could figure out the tv). We're tall, and really appreciated the taller kitchen and bathroom! We would stay here again in a heart beat- and we may as well hope to make this an annual trip. In town, we really enjoyed Trinks! We ate there three times because it was so good and so fast!
We loved the grand styling of this tiny home. It provided countless hours of enjoyment in this rugged section of The N. Cal coastline of a N. Sonoma county. We were very comfortable in the kitchen, bedroom was ample. Easy to access, yet wisely close to all local destinations.
Clean, convenient, comfortable, quiet
This was our 2nd time to stay at Loon's Landing and it is generally clean and convenient to Gualala and Point Arena being at the north end of Sea Ranch. There were some household issues that need to be addressed but easily fixable. Surroundings are pleasant with wildlife - deer, cute quail and other birds. Makes for an interesting walk in the mornings.

However, we weren’t prepared for a 10-hour city-wide power outage, which we were not notified until we checked in. We had to find food for the evening (most restaurants were closed due to the power outage) and get ourselves settled in, showered, …etc.. in less than three hours. So we couldn’t really enjoy the house the first evening and night (no flashlight and candles provided), until next day. However the house itself is quite lovely and relaxing once we had all the amenities back in place, just too bad that we only got to enjoy it one day.
