We love Rainbow Ridge and come as often as possible! It’s a perfect retreat surrounded by Redwood trees and inside all the comforts of home . Out the front door adventures beckon , hiking , beach combing and when the day is over you get to return a small slice of paradise. A quick hint……visit Point Arena just a short drive north and you’ll find the best bakery in California! We hope to be back soon for another sunset !
A cozy getaway amidst the redwoods, and a short drive to the ocean. Perfect for a relaxing weekend by the coast.
My friends and I had a wonderful time here. It was so beautiful and cozy, it was hard to say goodbye at the end! The steep driveway took a little adjusting to, but other than that, the beds & couches were very comfortable. And we loved spending time on the back patio, enveloped by the stunning redwood forest.
Simply a beautiful home! We travel often and staying at Rainbow Ridge is a favorite stop to enjoy the California coast north of SF. Incredibly comfortable, immaculate and as you sit in the living room you look out into a redwood grove ! Hiking trails are abundant , visit the lighthouse and stop into Franny’s ( Point Arena)the nest bakery in the USA Rainbow Ridge is on our stay again list and we’ll be back soon !
I can say with confidence that this is the best vacation rental property that I've had the pleasure of staying at. The space is as stunning and homely as the pictures make you feel. The interior is artfully curated and feels lived in, but there is still plenty of space for you to drop your things off and make the space your own for your short stay. The couch is as comfy as you wish yours at home was, the bed is plush and snug for an excellent night's sleep, and the warm wood of the interior makes you want to hunker down in good company. And I must say: the kitchen is EXCELLENT. I say this as someone who has been building a curated array of kitchen tools since the tender age of 16, and who normally brings my own cooking equipment on vacation rentals because I feel far more comfortable with my own sharp knives than the dull ones most often found in others' spaces. The kitchen is filled with an enviable array of spices, platters, prep equipment (blender, food processor, etc.), and spectacular OPEN COUNTER SPACE that I feel one could easily host a 50-person pop-up dinner without need to bring extra equipment. And the space surrounding the property is so serene and tranquil; it really is the ideal getaway from the bustle of city life. A few small nitpicks that I would recommend for the host and for customers to consider: 1) The living room windows do not have privacy shades. It felt quite exposed to be surrounded by the darkness of the forest while lit up by the kitchen and living room lights. I would feel far more comfortable to have had shades up when it gets dark so that I could enjoy still hanging out in the living room and kitchen. 2) The front door does not have a deadbolt lock, just a locking doorknob. This would have also allowed me to feel more safe in the property. If not a deadbolt, at least locking, heavy-duty door stops would certainly make me feel more safe and secure, especially in an area with which I am not familiar. Again, these are small things that I would recommend to change to really make this an 11/10 experience out of one that I believe is already 10/10. Thank you for the opportunity and we hope to return soon!
