Cozy oceanfront villa, tennis courts, hot tub, shared pool and ocean view

The Beachfront condo was absolutely amazing!!! We have stayed in Hilton Head the last three years for Spring Break. This was our first time staying ocean front and we were so happy we did. We listened to the ocean at night through the screened windows, walked on the beach at Sunrise and enjoyed played corn hole and pickleball on the resort.

The good: The unit itself is absolutely stunning—everything you could want in a beachfront villa and more. The kitchen was fully stocked, the unit was spotless, clearly recently renovated, with new towels and finishes. Picture-perfect in every way. The bad: We booked in Palmetto Dunes, where we always stay and where we play pickleball. The afternoon before our arrival, I received an email saying construction was happening on the unit/building we rented and that we were being moved outside of Palmetto Dunes. Finding this out less than 24 hours before arrival was shocking, stressful, and frankly unacceptable. At that point, you have no real choice but to go along with it. To Vacasa’s credit, the replacement unit was also beautiful, they arranged an extra parking pass, and they promptly refunded the price difference. The very bad (and unacceptable): Upon check-in, none of the TVs worked and there was no internet—at all. Not on the TVs, not on our phones. We called and texted Vacasa multiple times and were told to try basic troubleshooting that we had already done. It was New Year’s Eve, no technicians were available, and we were told no one could come until Monday—after our Sunday checkout. We were later told the cable company believed the fiber optics had likely been cut due to construction in the building. To make matters worse, our last full day was a complete rainout, and with no TV or internet, there was literally nothing to do. We left our vacation a day early because of it. Vacasa told us we would receive a credit for the internet/TV failure. We have received nothing. After following up again, the response was simply, “We’re working on it.” Bottom line: Do not rent this unit until construction is fully completed and the internet and cable are confirmed to be working. A beautiful unit means nothing if you’re left disconnected, frustrated, and ignored—especially over a holiday.

This is our second time staying here and we still love it! Perfect spot for a family vacation.

Great stay at one of our favorite beachfront Island Club condos.

This condo is just as advertised. Clean, updated and has most everything you need. Only1 frying pan, so a suggestion would be to add a small one. The view is fantastic. Beds are comfortable. The Island Club grounds are very well maintained. I would give this condo 5 stars if not for the lock issue. The main public pool is pretty small for the size of the complex. There is an adult deck, but it is just a 6" pool with a hot tub next to it, so the water gets very warm. Separate kids pool is nice. Our main and only real complaint, is that we were locked out for over an hour on our first day! My husband was in the condo, and I went out to my car to get something. My niece who was staying with us, was at the pool with her dad who was staying with us for one night. When I went back to the condo, I could not get in and my husband could not get out! It took several calls to Vacasa to get a locksmith out. I also went and found the person working the guard shack and he came upstairs to try to help us. We had ordered pizza and pasta for dinner and it was delivered while we were locked out! We finally took the screen out of the kitchen window and climbed in so that we could get the food in and try to eat our dinner. Not a relaxing first night at all! Locksmith showed up and had to replace the lock. Apparently this happened the week before as well! Vacasa was less than apologetic about this. I am VERY easy to get along with, but when I asked to speak to someone in charge, they seemed annoyed and uninterested. We paid good money for this condo and our first night was ruined! The only night my brother was staying over. We never heard back from anyone after this night. While I appreciate that Vacasa is available 24/7, they are not onsight and were not able to answer questions before hand about parking, etc. I would probably not book through Vacasa again.
