Beach condo with balcony, pools, & hot tub- near golf & beach

Here is my honest review of this booking and the unit we stayed in and the location we stayed at. Here’s a little background information too. We are a family of 5 (3 kids -14, 9 and 6). We were going away for My wife’s birthday and other families were going with us. They booked with no problem. First problem was trying to book. We booked a unit and I thought we were all set and ready to go. Then the next day our booking was canceled without any explanation. So I called and they could not help. I tried to book again and it was canceled again. I then booked in a different site and waited. No cancellation, so I called to confirm and they couldn’t find our booking. Even with giving them all the information. So we had to call everyday to try and get in touch with someone, but was only allowed to leave messages. Nobody ever called us back, but we did get a confirmation email 24 hours prior to the date. The place was easy to get into and the resort is pretty nice. It has a nice boardwalk to the beach and multiple pools. The unit we stayed in was not the best. I would have rather stayed in a different unit or a hotel room. It was very dirty and cramped, but it was a place to sleep. Small kitchen with a lot of dirty items Found garbage and old food in every room There was an entire package of old Oreos under the bed. A lot of the outlets didn’t work around the unit. We wanted to rest and relax but each night was something else. We woke up sweating the first night because either the heat was turned on over night or the air was turned off and the unit was 85*. The next night there was a banging sound coming from the bathroom every 30 seconds to a minute (idk if it’s an issue with the unit or the building) In the end I wood go back to the resort but wood avoid this unit and this host if possible. I would have liked a smoother check in process with a confirmation so you know that you have a place to stay. We literally had no idea until 24 hours prior to our stay. The unit needs to be cleaned a lot better. I shouldn’t have to clean up after a cleaning service and other people. I would recommend bringing anything you want to cook with and using paper and plastic ware. Bring garbage bags too since they only give you 2 kitchen size bags. The location was great though. You can walk to the beach. You are close to the pools, bar and bike rentals. The resort has a lot of nice amenities. It’s also close to stores and other activities outside the resort. It would have been nice if the restaurant on the boardwalk was open, but it looks like they open in mid April. We will have to try them next time. Overall the vacation was nice. We made the best of it. Had to spend some extra money on things we shouldn’t have and didn’t really rest that much due to issues in the unit, but would definitely go back and stay somewhere else!

Okay but could be better

Very laid back. Everyone got lots of rest. Be sure to take insect repellent for outdoor activities.
