Meant To Beach

It was spacious enough to gather, yet provided privacy and super close to the beach.

This is not an expensive beach house and we realize we "get what we pay for," however, future renters beware, there were not just cleanliness issues but health issues. There were multiple rooms with mold growing on the ceiling from leaks, mattresses and pillows with bloodstains on them, along with other "unknown stains" on mattress covers. There was a leak dripping on a 2 year old child overnight, and one young boy in our group got a splinter from the floor in the downstairs bathroom! The home was dirty, we could not go without shoes on in the home because the floors turned our feet black. Things were sticky, and overall just gross. The freezer didn't keep our food frozen, one of the guys in our group had to fix the dishwasher and replace light bulbs. Unfortunately, thats not even all of what we experienced but again, I get that we get what we pay for, so I expect the furnishings and decor to not be updated but it should still be maintained. I will give credit that the staff was responsive and friendly, they had a guy come out to "spray" the mold, and seemed like they wanted to help but honestly the credit we received definitely did not seem to match the issues we experienced. I would highly recommend confirming that these things have been remedied prior to booking!

The house itself was nice & provided plenty of room for our large group. The only issue we had was parking and the yard. Unfortunately, it rained a good bit while we were there which led to a large mudpuddle forming in the driveway and at the front entrance. The plants in the yard are a bit overgrown and hang over the driveway making it difficult to get in & out your vehicle. Also, it was very difficult to pull out of the driveway onto Jungle Rd. (which is very busy at times) because line of sight was blocked by the neighbors' plants/bushes. Having clearer instructions regarding additional parking in the rear would have been helpful.

Good older home on the island for 12+ . And is pet friendly.

This house is an ok stay. We were thankful to be able to get it after one of the local real estate companies canceled our reservation 4 months ago (reserved 1 yr in advance)… This house was well equipped and we loved the location and all of the trees in the yard. The parking and driveway set up were fantastic for many cars and 2 large golf carts. The kitchen has double ovens, great for a large group. The house was warm when we arrived. The air conditioner never cooled the downstairs well. The upstairs stayed a cool 70 degrees and was lovely. Downstairs was always 10 degrees warmer starting early in the morning and much much warmer after cooking dinner. The beds were less than comfortable, each very noisy when rolling over. We survived, but a mattress upgrade would be in your best interest. The furniture had stains on it and the floors were filthy. Our kids had black grocery store feet the first night after baths. Overall, it wasn’t a awful place but definitely could have been better with an upgraded air conditioner, inexpensive amazon mattresses, and a good cleaning.

Like most houses on Edisto, you are not far from the beach. House has lots of room, and a very nice kitchen.
